Kyoto estilo de sushi

Wonderful family run sushi restaurant with long history in Kyoto. We had dinner the evening before the sushi making lesson and the two events together provided first a wonderful dinner and then the next morning a bit of a peak behind the curtain on how this wonderful restaurant makes their magic

Really authentic Sushi making experience in traditional Sushi restaurant. Host is really friendly and I learnt a lot about sushi culture.

I visited their sushi workshop and had a fantastic time. Not only did I learn about the history and process of sushi-making, but I also got hands-on experience creating hako-sushi and chirashi-sushi. The chef and his wife were incredibly friendly and provided excellent explanations throughout. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in Japanese food culture!

A fun Kyoto-style sushi workshop! This workshop went through the history of Sushi in Japan, and how it has evolved over the years, and variations across Japan. They also taught us things about vinegar, wasabi, and knives before going into the sushi making part, which was super fun! The staff were super nice and spoke good English. A great way to learn more about Sushi in the Kansai region.

A wonderful experience. It was great to be able to learn about the origins and evolution of sushi from a couple who exude so much love for their traditions and the products of their land. Also, being able to make your own sushi and enjoy it with people who have the same curiosity is great. If you want a real experience, this is the place, a third-generation sushi shop where everything they show you is part of their life and their daily life. I encourage everyone who loves everything that surrounds Japanese cuisine to try these experiences.

Excellent experience to learn about Sushi history, the difference between Tokyo Sushi and Kansai Sushi, and how to make it. It is really unique to know about not a normal nigiri Sushi, but about hako-zushi or chirashi-zushi which is more popular in Kyoto. And the chef owner and his wife's English explanation was also excellent. It's easy to learn deeply about Sushi. You should try it if you are interested in Kyoto's original food culture!!

After learning the history of sushi, I really enjoyed the series of experiences of making and eating sushi myself! Even though I am Japanese and like sushi, I learned a lot about sushi, which was very interesting. It was a wonderful combination of the couple and I enjoyed the workshop. I wanted to go and enjoy sushi next time. Thank you very much.

At this at-home restaurant, you can also experience a workshop where you will learn the history of sushi and how to make sushi from the owner and proprietress. They also explain in English, so it is recommended for those who come to Japan from overseas.
