Fabulous experience. Way beyond expectations. The experience is in a professional sushi restaurant and the ingredients are greats. Teachers and guides are so nice.
We loved the experience, very good guide to Ayu, dynamic and cheerful. The very friendly chefs, gave us a nice time. I highly recommend it.
My husband and I did this sushi tour and tea ceremony and it was the highlight of our trip. Akko was our tour guide and she delivered over and above. Learning about Japanese culture through the lens of Akko and the sushi chef was an additional plus to learning how to make sushi. Highly recommend!
My husband and I had an incredible experience with Yuka! She and the amazing chefs who taught/served us did such a wonderful job explaining everything, teaching us about the history of sushi making and other cultural things, and answering all of our questions. The sushi, sweets, sake, and matcha tea were all so delicious. We would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone. Thank you again!

Our sushi class with Ayuri was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip! From the moment we walked in, she made us feel like family — so warm, genuine, and full of energy. We were laughing nonstop and felt completely at home throughout the experience. The chef and sake master were incredible as well, guiding us step-by-step on how to make our own sushi while sharing fascinating insights about Japanese culture and traditions. It was interactive, and fun— we left with full hearts and full stomachs! This class is more than just a cooking lesson; it’s a beautiful glimpse into local life and community. You can really feel the passion and authenticity that Ayuri and her team put into every detail. We can’t recommend it highly enough — an absolute must for anyone visiting the area! Ayuri is the best host ever! She is so kind, sweet and helpful! The tour was fabulous! The chef was very professional and knowledgeable. He teaches with passion and cooks with passion! You have to do this one in Kyoto!!!
Ayu was a perfect guide. She spoke great English, which was amazing because she could easily translate what every person we talked to was saying. She was happy, excited to lead us on the tour, and very knowledgable about the history of Kyoto. She was so kind as well, and her as our guide made our tour experience unforgettable.

We booked the sushi making tour in Kyoto for our Wednesday afternoon in town. My partner and I are visiting from Florida, USA for our first trip to Japan, and he was hesitant to sign up for this experience but it turned out to be so amazing and worth it. We both agreed that this has been our best meal of our trip so far. Also, I thought it was just going to be the sushi, but our guide started out by walking us around a few places and chatting about the area, then there was the sushi, a sake tasting, and finished with having matcha while sitting on tatami mats. So it was like four experiences for the price of one! I highly recommend signing up for this! Also our guide Ayo was fabulous!
