Inca Trail 4 - Excursão de um dia a Machu Picchu - Retorno de Vistadome Train

My friend and I did this trek on July 18th 2026 and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. The reason I had such a wonderful time was all due to the staff that was involved from the chef, our server the chaskis and especially the guides. I was so fortunate to have gotten Ivan and Yardida as my guides they were amazing, kind, supportive and made us laugh the whole way I couldn’t have asked for better guides if you are lucky enough to get these 2 you are in good hands! They worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone had the best time and I’m thankful for everything they did. Mucho awesome would 100% recommended to anyone who’s thinking about it!!

Amazing experience and a fantastic team. Rolando our guide was so supportive and knowledgeable and the chef Bihiljo kept us so well fed. Can’t believe what he cooked up for us and all carried by the super porters.

What a life changing experience! Trekking the Inca trail to Machu Picchu was absolutely incredible and made even better by our Alpaca Team. It was hard, but so worth it! Hono and Daniel went above and beyond as our guides and we could not have made it without them. Not only did they help us get through the trek and support us, but they taught us about Peru, the Incan empire, and the history of the people and country. They were the best. I had low expectations going into the trek for the food and was absolutely blown away by our chef Sergio! Somehow he was able to make delicious, incredible meals on the side of the mountain in the tiny kitchen tent. We ate trout, mango ceviche, chicken stuffed crepes, pumpkin soup, guacamole, roasted vegetables, berry pancakes, and beef stir fry. On our last night camping, he made us a cake, which we enjoyed with our coffee and tea. Truly incredible. Last but not least, our amazing porters made this trip possible. We had 22 porters led by Mario and they ensured our camp was always comfortable and ready for us and helped carry all of our gear. I was blown away by their hard work and so grateful. I loved getting to meet all of them and learn more about them. I would highly recommend booking your Inca Trail Trek with Alpaca Expeditions if you’re super lucky you’ll have Hono, Daniel, Sergio, and Mario’s porters on your team!!!

So incredibly worth it! What a way to be able to connect with the Incan culture, and get to see places most don’t. I had Javi and Benjamin as guides and they both did amazing at keeping the group informed at each stop and making sure everyone was well taken care of.

Such a fantastic and self exploring experience. Been on my list for 20 years! Dint waste time thinking about it and just do it! The guides were so amazing. Coaching you and challenging you along the way. The people in our group became family as we walked the most historic place I’ve ever visited. Best trip ever!!

I cannot begin to explain how incredible this experience is! Our guides Hono and Daniel made every step of the experience run smoothly. They shared their passion, knowledge and experiences with us every step of the way. The highlight was not just Machu Picchu at the end because they made the journey along the way just as special. Then there was Chef Sergio! I read so much on this tour before booking but food was not something that I remember being highlighted. Well, Chef Sergio is the best of the best! The food was of abundance and every single dish was presented and tasted to the highest standard. This is mind blowing give that Chef Sergio is also doing the hike with us and then preparing this food with very limited resources. I cannot recommend this tour and its people enough. There is not a single thing I could fault! Well done, Alpaca team.

My husband and I absolutely loved this hike/tour by Alpaca. Everything about it exceeded our expectations. The guides, Mr Hono and Daniel were fabulous. They looked after our safety and provided so much cultural and historical information in such a fun manner. The food prepared by Sergio was phenomenal. The scenery was stunning. We had an absolutely incredible experience completing the Inca Trail with Alpaca Expeditions. From start to finish, the organisation was excellent and the whole team worked incredibly hard to make the experience as enjoyable and memorable as possible. Our guides, Juan Carlos Huillca and Wilber Huamani, were exceptional. They were extremely knowledgeable about the history, culture and landscape of the Inca Trail, spoke excellent English, and were always happy to answer our many questions. Most importantly, we felt completely safe and secure with them as our guides throughout the trek. Their encouragement and expertise made a huge difference, particularly during the more challenging sections of the trail. The porters were nothing short of superhuman. Every day, they would somehow get ahead of us, set up camp perfectly and have everything ready for our arrival. Their hard work was incredible to witness, and we have enormous respect for everything they did to make the trek possible. The food prepared by the chefs was also excellent. We genuinely couldn’t believe the quality and variety of the meals that could be produced in the conditions, and the food was always something we looked forward to after a long day of hiking. I would highly recommend Alpaca Expeditions to anyone looking to complete the Inca Trail and see Machu Picchu. The entire team was fantastic, and it was an unforgettable experience from beginning to end.

Our guide handled everything amazing! Raul V. was super accommodating and always knew what we needed. We had several health issues in the group that needed extra attention and created logistical challenges, but he always made it work and we always felt super safe. And what an amazing adventure! We learned so much and Raul is not only very accommodating and a hard worker, he’s also extremely knowledgeable about the inkas rich culture and history. All in all a top tier experience, plus the food was amazing and they gave us real pillows to sleep on in the tents!

I can only say thank you to Alpaca Expeditions for this incredible experience. I would especially highlight their human factor; it is moving to feel the kindness of all the workers: porters, chef (Sergio, in our case), and guides (Hono and Daniel). They strive to ensure that you really only have to worry about having a good time and enjoying the experience. I don't have much more to add, just to repeat thank you, thank you, thank you… or as they have taught us to say in Quechua, “Sullpayki”. I am very excited after this trip… do not hesitate to come and experience it with them!!!!!!
