Overall it was a really nice experience. Bjorn was very friendly and knowledgeable. Leo was a fantastic snorkeling guide. The process for getting the gear on and then waiting an hour in line was less fun. I still recommend it, but be ready for an uncomfortable wait if you snorkel at the end of the day.
Since the golden circle requires a long drive, it would’ve been nice if the tour bus driver/tour guide would have spoken more about Iceland. In addition, he would often forget to use the microphone so that only the people in the front could hear him. When guests ask questions, he should talk about the question and answers via the microphone. Geulia at the Silfra was terrific. She made changing into the wet suits and waiting in line to swim about as fun as it could have been. The Silfra snorkeling experience would have been better if there was not such a long wait between groups (especially since there are appointments). It would’ve also been nice if the GoPro could videotape our experience and not just have photos.
What a brilliant experience - highly recommended. We did it as family - two of us mid 50s, and our 19 and 16 year old. Joa and Belu were great guides - they explained everything step by step, and made us feel really looked after. You dress in a cosy undersuit, and then a full dry suit over the top. Joa and Belu make sure everything is safe, cosy and comfortable. After the briefing, you walk over to the entry platform, which again feels very safe. I was a little nervous, and had a mild 'moment' when I put my face into the water. Joa was amazing - he calmly talked to me, held my hands, settled me down, spoke calming and clearly until I felt 'safe' enough which just took a few minutes. At the same time he was talking to the rest of the group, checking they were all OK, and smiling at my family every time he told me I was the best in the group! The actual experience is fantastic - breath taking. It seems a lot of money, but you can see where the money goes on the equipment, training, highly qualified instructors etc etc. An experience that will last a lifetime I think!
Everything in iceland is excellent! And our guide Bjorn is also very kind and friendly
it’s good, I like my driver who is good at tell stories
Really enjoyed this tour! Anna picked us up right on time and was a great snorkel guide. Super friendly and helpful getting all the gear on, and a great photographer too! Daniel was my driver and guide for the rest of the tour and he was great as well, knowledgeable about all the stops we went to and had additional commentary on various things we drove past as well. He gave us horse candy to feed to the horses which was an awesome surprise stop!
This trip is really nice Bjorn is very friendly
10000/10 experience absolutely must do!!! Max was our tour guide for most of the day and was fabulous and Abbie was our instructor for the snorkel section. Max was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the environment and history of all of the places we got to see and even let us stop to see the ponies!! Abbie took amazing pictures and made sure we all felt safe and comfortable prior to getting in the water. Such a unique amazing experience and could not say enough great things!!!
Had the pleasure of being taken on our tour by Ella in ‘Rambo’ the monster 4x4 mini bus! Great story telling and explanations on the road between stops: trolls, elves and the hidden people who inhabit Iceland along with us humans! Gave us plenty of time at each location and even made an extra stop to see the legendary Icelandic horses. Great day out.
This is my favorite tour out of the 3 I did in Iceland. The snorkeling is magical and Lilian was the perfect guide. He keeps you laughing. The stops around the golden circle were well timed. The driver kept us very entertained with stories and history. Don’t miss this one.
