A estação ferroviária de Demodara é a terceira última estação da Linha Principal e fica a 277,71 km (172,56 milhas) de distância de Colombo. Está localizado a 912,5 m (2.994 pés) acima do nível médio do mar e a 8 km (5,0 mi) de Badulla, capital da província de Uva. Todos os trens que circulam na Linha Principal, incluindo os trens expressos Podi Menike e Udarata Menike param na estação. A estação é mais notável por sua linha ferroviária em espiral neste local, popularmente conhecida como 'Demodara Loop'. A linha férrea passa por baixo de si mesma, contornando a curva e saindo de um túnel, que passa diretamente abaixo da estação ferroviária de Demodara. This is a great way to see the main sights of Ella. Really enjoyed this all inclusive excursion and we were the only people, which meant that we could take everything at our own pace. Vimukthi was a great guide, got us some great pictures and made sure that we were stood in the best spots. He also made sure that we always had enough water. Ella rock is quite steep to climb but it is worth it when you get to the top! Would definitely recommend this trip.

Our trip to Ella with friends was one of the most enjoyable experiences of our holiday.
