We booked this event for three and unfortunately my self and my wife were not allowed to participate because of our Diabetic condition. We were disappointed to know this at the last minute. I wish Viator would list Diabetes as one of the health conditions that will prevent people from participating in this adventure. My daughter was allowed to go and she had real fun. She loved the experience. I was happy the way the way our request for refund was handled. I received my refund immediately after my request. I would advise you to check with the tour operator, if you have any health condition, before booking so that you are not disappointed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you and your wife were unable to participate on the day, though we’re pleased your daughter still enjoyed the experience and that the refund process was handled promptly. As outlined in the listing, certain medical conditions and medications may preclude participation, and customers are advised to contact the supplier directly for clarification prior to booking if they have any concerns. Due to the wide range of medical considerations that may apply, it isn’t possible to list every condition individually on the page. We do strongly encourage guests with any pre-existing health conditions to reach out to us in advance so we can provide the most accurate guidance and help ensure the best possible experience.
I love every minute of this excursion. The whole team is very organized and detailed cares for each of us. Beautiful Green island.
We loved that every minute was enjoyed with us at Green Island! Thank you for sharing!
My Neice had an absolutely wonderful experience. Sadly due to pre-existing medical conditions, 2 of us were unable to participate.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We’re thrilled to hear that your niece had such a memorable experience with us! We completely understand how disappointing it can be when pre-existing medical conditions prevent others from participating. Safety is always our top priority, especially for helmet and scuba diving experiences. We truly hope to welcome you all on board in the future, and we’d be more than happy to help explore suitable options so everyone can join in safely.
Excellent experience. This really is an ALL DAY activity. If you don't catch the 8:30 boat to the island, you'll most likely regret it. The Seawaker experience is unique and my claustrophobic wife who freaks out at everything thoroughly loved it. Follow the instructions of the guides and everything will go fine. Safety is their utmost goal with you having an excellent experience a close second. Lycra suites and beach shoes come with the experience. After this you can snorkel (keep the suit on and grab a mask, snorkel and flippers). Again, those are part of your experience. They video and take pictures of you when you do the Seawalker experience. Ours was nicely done and, even though it's rather pricey, we opted for the USB stick of everything. Snorkeling was a gas. We're 66 and 68 respectively. They gave us life vests to help us float and we spent over an hour watching the various fish, coral, baby crocodiles about six inches long, turtles, and plants. After that we washed off, had lunch at one of their venues, then jumped in their fresh water pool and later sat on lounge chairs around the pool. They have places on the beach too to sit under an umbrella. They have a restaurant too but we chose the little burger place instead. We both finished the day at the pier in Cairns where we ate at Dundees (yeah, named after the man himself). You can get kangaroo (excellent by the way, better than fillet minion - and that's my wife talking who is squemish sbout everything she eats). You can get it as "Hop Rock" or the next thing down on the menu - "Crocodile Rock". Rock means they serve it on a piece of volcanic rock and you cook it yourself. Not for kids. Overall, this is an experience of a lifetime.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear that both of you had an excellent experience and that the Seawalker adventure was enjoyable, even for those who may feel a bit apprehensive. We really appreciate your tips for future guests and are glad the photos and videos added to the memories. We’d love to welcome you back for another adventure anytime (and it sounds like you chose a lovely restaurant to dine at later that evening in Cairns!).
Was a great experience very professional definitely recommend I would definitely go again next time we visit Cairns
We’re thrilled to hear you had a great experience and found our team professional. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit to Cairns!
It was interesting and t he guys worked extra hard to make sure everyone felt safe. I was disappointed that we only stayed below the float. Very limited coral and small fish. But it was an experience I'm glad I had. Would I do it again, no, but I was not able at my age, 82, to feel comfortable snorkeling anymore. So I can say I saw the great barrier reef first hand. The glass bottom boat was great, in my opinion the high light of the tour.being at the great barrier reef
We’re very pleased to hear that our crew made you feel safe and supported throughout the experience, as guest safety is always our top priority. It’s truly wonderful to hear that you were able to experience the Great Barrier Reef firsthand, especially under the circumstances, and that the glass-bottom boat was a highlight of your day. We’re glad it provided a comfortable and enjoyable way to take in the reef’s beauty. Thank you again for joining us.
This was an outstanding experience! The coral reef, the fish, and all the other creatures of the reef were amazingly clear. This is a tremendous way to see the reef, even better than snorkeling. The staff were wonderful and we highly recommend this activity.
Thank you so much for your fantastic review! Our crew works hard to make every experience special, and it’s wonderful to know their efforts made a difference. We really appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon!
We booked this through Viator and, without a doubt, this was THE worst experience with Viator, ever!! When I initially booked it, I requested information about whether there would be a problem with my completing this activity, because of my medications. I received no response from the vendor, Quick Silver in Cairns Australia. Trying to find the location of the vendor was a challenge because the name Quicksilver did not appear in any of the Marquee displays, at their headquarters. Instead, it was Silver Swift. It was not until we were on the boat to Green Island that we found out that I would not be allowed to participate in the seabed walk because of a medication I am taking. If we had known this ahead of time, we would have opted for a different tour. Shame on you, Viator, for not protecting your clients. The tour itself was 20 minutes walking in circles beneath the boat. We have been purchasing Viator tours for over a decade. After much effort we received a refund for a portion of the tour.
This is THE most duplicitous Viator tour ever! In March I contacted the vendor to determine if any of the medications I take would prevent me from participating. They sent me a form which I completed and returned, but heard nothing. No news is good news? Au contraire! The day of the tour we arrived at Quicksilver on Spence St (that was a complete mess -- no where did it say Quicksilver in the entire facility -- you had to intuit it was there!) Received our tickets then sat outside (on a low wall) for 45 minutes. On the boat we were given the same form I had previously filled out, only to be told that I was ineligible because of one medication. My husband was eligible, but if we had known ahead of time, we would have done something else. No transparency. The actual seabed walk was a joke. 15-20 minutes of walking in a circle under the boat. This is an absolute scam. To add insult to injury, getting Viator to provide a refund for half of the expense is excruciatingly difficult. We have used Viator for about 10 years, but that may be coming to a close soon!
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Regarding the medical form, our records indicate that one passenger from your booking on 1 October was deemed ineligible due to a medication. However, we could not locate any prior correspondence from you regarding your medications. If you would like, please reach out to res@greatadventures.com.au so we can review your initial correspondence and ensure everything is properly addressed. We take safety very seriously, and any decision to deny participation is made only after careful consideration. While the tour is operated by the Quicksilver Group, the boat you travel on is called Great Adventures. You would have been able to identify this in the ticket’s special instructions, which state: "Important: Please check in & collect your boarding pass at the Great Adventures Counter inside the Reef Fleet Terminal 45 minutes prior to departure." Lastly the Seawalker experience does involve walking in a circle as you are connected to air hoses. This is standard across all Helmet Walk experiences. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience, and we encourage you to reach out so we can locate your initial correspondence with us.
Very easy to do to with such an experienced crew. The large clam was gorgeous. Knowledgable staff to answer all questions on what you saw.
Thank you for your lovely feedback! The giant clams are truly stunning to see up close, and we’re delighted you got to experience them. We hope to welcome you back for another visit to the reef soon! 🌊🐚
