Volte no tempo nesta excursão a pé exclusiva de 90 minutos no Bairro Francês. O Creole Kids Tour, liderado por professores, leva crianças em idade escolar elementar (e seus adultos) por 6 quarteirões do Bairro Francês, explicando quem morava aqui, por que moravam aqui e como era a vida das crianças que moram aqui no século XIX. As crianças vão ver fotos do passado, segurar artefatos do passado e reencenar um momento no tempo. Os adultos presentes sairão com uma melhor compreensão da cidade e de algumas crianças muito felizes! Os adultos são incentivados a participar ou a relaxar e deixar seus filhos liderarem o show.

As famílias aprenderão fatos sobre o rio e seu uso nos últimos séculos. Piadas do pai e perguntas instigantes estão incluídas.
As crianças vão aprender quem era Andrew Jackson, pelo que ele é mais conhecido e por que há uma estátua dele em Nova Orleans. Eles também vão cumprimentá-lo como um cidadão do século 19 faria.
Neste parque aberto, as famílias se sentarão à sombra e aprenderão sobre as diferentes pessoas que controlavam, trabalhavam e viviam em Nova Orleans desde os anos 1600. Discutiremos como esta terra foi usada e por que as pessoas vieram aqui voluntariamente e escravizadas. As crianças aprenderão sobre a vida cotidiana em 1800 para crianças livres versus crianças escravizadas; Americanos vs crioulos, e meninos vs meninas. Discussões instigantes são tecidas na reconstituição de aspectos do nosso passado enquanto aproveitamos o sol nesta bela praça.
As famílias aprenderão sobre o papel da Igreja Católica na criação da colônia, bem como o Code Noir que governava a religião e os papéis da população escravizada. Vamos espiar ao lado e ouvir sobre um dos feriados católicos mais populares: o Mardi Gras.

Miss Jill did an amazing job with this tour. She was incredibly patient with the kids and the material was perfect for the target audience. My daughter learned a lot and I was happy she was getting well researched and fact based information delivered in a way she could understand and process (even though some topics are difficult for kiddos to get). We loved the tour so much, we booked the tween ghost tour with Miss Chelsea the next day and loved it as well! I cannot recommend this company strongly enough if you are traveling with kiddos.

What a great tour! Leann was so knowledgeable and passionate about New Orleans history and it really came alive for my 7&10 year olds. She took her time answering questions and adding details and both children and adults walked away with new understanding of the region and history. Both kids and adults were engaged the entire tour, and it was a great mix of history, walking, props and active learning. You can tell Leann is a teacher. I’m sure she’s just as wonderful in the classroom, her students are lucky.
We absolutely LOVED the Creole Kids tour! Leann was our guide and she did a phenomenal job! She went above and beyond with the tour and did an amazing job making history come to life. My husband and I loved it just as much as the kids! It was the highlight of our time in New Orleans, and the kids said it was even better than beignets! 😉
We took a kids walking tour and it was wonderful! Very educational while being engaging and fun. Learned a lot about Creole culture and how people lived hundreds of years ago in New Orleans.

My kids loved this! The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. She was very personable and when I told her my children’s father was creole, she made it a point to connect the tour to them. We will be doing more tours and I definitely recommend.
This was an amazing experience for our kids. The communication with location and information ahead of time was perfect. This tour kept our kids attention the entire time and our kids were taking about it all day long. It was very educational and we would highly recommend when visiting NOLA.
Highly interactive. The kids were engaged every step of the way. Jill had visual representations which helped to reinforce facts. Lots of laughter. A wonderful and memorable tour for our kids!

My 8 and 6 years old stayed engaged the entire time. All four of us learned interesting history of NOLA. Not as much walking as I expected (this was a good thing). I would highly recommend this tour. I wish I booked more tours through them.
