Anne was great. Her knowledge of everything from heritage to trees and hiking was amazing. I loved the tour and learned so much about the area. I will recommend this to everyone.
Great information shared about Colorado. Bring your water bottle to be filled up. Alex is amazing about the wild life and the plant information on the tour. We were fortunate enough to see a herd of elk. It was an amazing afternoon. Thank you Alex!
Alex is a true mountain nerd at heart—he gets just as excited explaining the local plant life as he does pointing out a full herd of elk! We’re thrilled his passion for Colorado's flora and fauna made your afternoon so memorable. Thanks for joining us out in the mountains!
Alex our guide was absolutely outstanding. So knowledgeable about a wealth of items and entertaining. We enjoyed our day a lot and unlike some tours that tell you five hours and finish in four, we got a little extra time due to traffic. With that said I’d have preferred a tour that offered a couple less stops but more time to enjoy them. I was constantly setting my watch timer to make sure we were back on time and didn’t really get a chance to fully relax into any of the stops. They are probably catering to a majority of people who’d like to tick more boxes but for more this would be a better tour if it had fewer stops.
So glad Alex made the trip so entertaining and took such great care of you! Balancing big local sights into just a few hours on a half-day trip is always a race against the clock, and we completely understand wanting more time to just sink into the scenery. Next time you're in Colorado, definitely check out one of our full-day itineraries—they're built specifically for a more relaxed, unhurried pace. Appreciate your candid review!
The pricing for this tour does not align with the value received. The final destination was the lake, which, despite favorable weather conditions, did not meet expectations. I would have preferred to allocate more time to exploring the charming town. I recommend considering a car rental for future excursions.
You're spot on—if your priority is spending extended time in town and having full control over your schedule, renting a car is definitely the best move for future trips. Guided group tours are specifically structured to handle the driving, park permits, and logistics while covering iconic natural sights like the alpine lakes. Different travel styles require different approaches, so self-driving sounds like a much better fit for how you like to explore!
Nice half day around the Denver area. Red Rocks is beautiful. Got in a small amount of hiking as well at Echo Lake.
Nothing beats pairing the dramatic red sandstone at the amphitheater with a peaceful stroll around Echo Lake! So glad you enjoyed getting a little mountain dirt on your boots while taking in the Denver area. Appreciate you sharing the review!
Seeing the Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre was really cool. I wish I would have seen a concert there. Echo lake was beautiful as well as the scenery when we drove around. Evergreen was a cute little mountain town. I wish that the guide told us more history and things to do in Denver.
Red Rocks, Echo Lake, and Evergreen make such a legendary combo! We really appreciate your note regarding the local history and Denver recommendations. Passing that feedback straight to our team so we can make sure our guides are packing in plenty of local lore and city tips along the drive. Glad you enjoyed the scenery and town stops with us!
I had a great day with Colorado Sightseer on the Red Rocks, Echo Lake, and Evergreen tour, although we went to Idaho Springs instead of Evergreen. Idaho Springs is a quaint mountain town, and I happened to walk into the Underhill Museum which was a great little gem. It was easy to meet up with the tour guide under the flagpole at Union Station. I liked being taken to beautiful and interesting places without having to worry about planning the route or navigating. We didn't travel in comfort though; it didn't feel like the van was air conditioned. The guide did not want to turn the fan past "3" for fear of overheating the engine. It didn't feel cool in the van the entire trip. We made several additional memorable stops along the way: Juniper Pass in the Arapaho National Forest, which was an easy walk to mind-blowing views, and Clear Creek Canyon Park. Colorado Sightseer is a "small, family-owned business," so I assumed that the tour guide was the owner and his wife handles the reservations. It wasn't until the end of the tour that I realized that the guide was an employee of the couple who own the business and not the owner. At each stop we had free time to explore. The scenery throughout the tour was spectacular, and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the Colorado landscape. Colorado Sightseer provided an enjoyable and memorable way to experience the area. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Colorado who wants to effortlessly see a lot of beautiful places in one trip!
Great half day tour of Red Rocks, Evergreen, Echo Lake and Juniper Pass. Alex, our guide, provided tons of trivia, history and background of Colorado and sights. Perfect for our schedule and such a scenic tour!
Alex is basically a walking vault of Colorado history and random facts! So glad this half-day loop hit all the right scenic notes for you. Appreciate you sharing the love!
Excellent Tour and an Outstanding Guide We had a fantastic experience with Colorado Sightseer on the Red Rocks, Evergreen and Echo Lake tour. Our guide, Anne, was passionate, extremely knowledgeable and an excellent storyteller. She made the history, geology and scenery of Colorado come alive throughout the day. Our visit to Red Rocks Amphitheatre was a highlight. Anne gave us a fascinating explanation of the incredible rock formations and the history of this world-famous concert venue. Her knowledge and enthusiasm really added to the experience. Our stop in Evergreen turned out to be something very special. We were incredibly fortunate to encounter a herd of more than 50 elk right in the middle of town! Seeing such a large herd so close was spectacular and completely unexpected. Anne gave us a wonderful explanation of the elk and the area, and we had plenty of time to watch them and take lots of pictures. It was one of those unforgettable experiences that you simply can’t plan for on a tour. We then continued higher into the mountains to Echo Lake, where we took a short hike and Anne gave us more history and information about the area. The scenery was spectacular, and it was fascinating to see how dramatically the landscape changed as we climbed higher into the mountains. The entire tour was informative, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. Anne didn’t just show us the sights — she brought Colorado to life with her knowledge and passion. I highly recommend Colorado Sightseer, and especially Anne as a guide. If you’re visiting Denver, this is a wonderful way to experience Red Rocks, the mountain communities, spectacular scenery and, if you’re lucky, some incredible Colorado wildlife.
Running into a herd of 50 elk right in the middle of town is pure Colorado magic—the kind of spontaneous moment you just can't stage! Anne is a master at adjusting on the fly so guests get to soak in those unexpected highlights without missing a beat. We're so glad you got to experience everything from the geology at Red Rocks to that alpine hike at Echo Lake. Thanks for capturing the day so vividly!
