O Etna é o vulcão ativo mais alto da Terra, localizado na placa Eurasiática. Suas frequentes erupções ao longo da história alteraram a paisagem circundante, às vezes profundamente, e ameaçaram repetidamente as populações que viviam em sua região. O Comitê da UNESCO incluiu o Monte Etna na lista de bens que constituem o Patrimônio Mundial. Taormina é uma cidade turística muito famosa, sendo também um destino para artistas, escritores e intelectuais (Goethe e Truman Capote estiveram entre os que lá se hospedaram). Particularmente apreciada não só pela sua beleza cênica e panorama fantástico, mas também pela sua "dolce vita", permissividade e transgressão. Você terá a oportunidade de descobrir as belezas do nosso vulcão e da esplêndida Taormina em apenas um dia, após o pick-up na cidade de CATANIA, vamos lá: Primeira parada: Caminhando por bosques centenários, crateras excêntricas e formações de lava únicas (geralmente as montanhas Sartorius ou as crateras formadas em 2002 no lado nordeste do Etna), nosso guia naturalista irá apresentá-lo ao fascinante mundo dos fenômenos vulcânicos. Segunda parada: Você vai explorar uma caverna de origem vulcânica (por exemplo, a "Grotta dei Ladroni" ou a "Grotta Cassone") munida dos equipamentos necessários (capacetes e tochas). No período de inverno, a visita à gruta não se realiza em caso de nevasca significativa ou de presença de gelo na entrada que tornasse a entrada perigosa. Terceira etapa: Se as condições climáticas permitirem, você terá a oportunidade de fazer um lanche à base de uma típica 'mesa quente' da Sicília. Caso contrário, o almoço será realizado em uma linda casa de fazenda na montanha.
Quarta parada: À tarde chegará a Taormina onde, de forma independente, poderá visitar o seu elegante percurso que separa as portas medievais da cidade, Porta Catania e Messina. Você receberá um mapa contendo todas as informações sobre os lugares mais importantes a serem visitados. O guia estará esperando por você na entrada da cidade (principalmente uma área de pedestres) para o retorno a Catânia. Durante a excursão, você alcançará uma altitude máxima de 2.000 metros (área de competência de nossos guias naturais).

We had an absolutely exceptional experience visiting Mount Etna. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Mirco, stands out for his enormous sympathy, professionalism and knowledge. Always available and attentive, made the whole experience even more enriching and pleasant. The group we shared this adventure with was equally fantastic — fun, relaxed and with great energy, which contributed to very special moments. This was an amazing and very informative tour. It was a little more challenging than I expected due to heavy snowfall on the volcano, but we were given boots and extra jackets if needed. The lunch and wine was fantastic! More food than we could eat!

Luca was an incredible guide and so passionate about sharing Etna and his knowledge about volcanoes and geological phenomena with us as well as his love for nature and Sicily. The hike was so great and fun and needed before the feast at the winery! We can’t wait to visit again!

Giovanni was an excellent and exuberant guide. So nice to have someone so passionate and knowledgeable about our 'adventure'. The trek up the 'craters' was a bit difficult ( 3 in their 60s and 1 70 y/o) but worth it. The lava tube was really cool. Even had a bat fly by our heads!! Food at the wine area was very good and varied with several local foods. Only issue was communication from Viator as to where to meet for the tour. Left several messages/emails and did not hear until the day before. This is unfortunately typical for Viator in my experience. Still I would highly recommend this tour and ask for Giovanni if possible.
