our guide owen was wonderful.He was flexible with our needs and kept us interested with his stories and history the entire tour.He was kind to pace his steps with ours(older couple) and was very kind in his attention to us .We would hire him again !

We had a great time on our walking tour with Owen! The viewpoints he took us to were amazing, and he shared so much interesting knowledge about Scotland’s history. The places we visited really made us feel like we were stepping back in time and experiencing history for ourselves. Owen is also a very friendly and easygoing person, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We would definitely recommend taking a tour with Owen — it will be well worth it! 😊

My mother and I had a private tour with Owen and were absolutely thrilled! The tour was incredibly exciting and at the same time very entertaining. Owen has an excellent way of conveying historical information in an interesting and understandable way, while always incorporating a good dose of humor. The time really flew by. Owen opened ours eyes on so much of the history of Edinburgh. He gave us broad and in depth descriptions of historical markers. Owen has a great conversational approach that lends to ease and comfort with asking questions. His knowledge of history draws you in with dramatic details. The best part is that he gave us great ideas for future Scotland tours! We will continue to book with Owen on future trips.

What an absolutely fantastic tour and tour guide, clearly extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Edinburgh. Owen was a superb guide, patient, didn't rush through anything and helped answer all of our questions, couldn't ask for a better tour guide, highly reccomend!

We had a wonderful and fun day with Owen Hughes at Blackford Hill and Old Town on August 2nd. Both as private tours. He told us many stories about those places, and we had a really great time with many laughs. We really recommend this tour.

The tour with Owen was so much better than I expected! I have lived in Edinburgh for a long time but 90% of the information and stories he gave were not known to me. The tour was a super blend of history peppered with great anecdotes. It is obvious that Owen has a genuine passion for Edinburgh and it's history and this really comes across. This tour has naturally been developed for visitors but I would also stronglt recommend it to the residents of Edinburgh who don't know what is under their nose!

This was one of the best walking tours I've ever taken. It ended up just being my wife and I on the day we took our tour. Owen, the tour guide and owner of this business, was so disarmingly pleasant to talk to and informative. Just a really relaxed and good-natured person. We learned quite a bit during his tour that was not mentioned to us in other presentations, and when he told us about persons and events that we had already heard about, his descriptions were more detailed and insightful, especially in terms of what life "on the the ground" was actually like and the nature of castle sieges etc. You can tell that the history of Edinburgh and Scottish history in general is a genuine passion of his, and he makes it a point not to "fake" any answers to questions he does not know. Since it was just us two, he was willing to take short detours based on our interests, which was really very nice and accommodating of him. My only regret is not booking his tour to take place sooner during our trip, and not to book at least one other trip led by him. Next time, we will!
