Esta é a bela casa de fazenda onde Karen Blixen, autora de Out of Africa, viveu entre 1914 e 1931, até deixar o Quênia após uma série de tragédias pessoais.
É um lugar que busca proteger nosso meio ambiente. Nosso principal trabalho é realizar iniciativas de conservação do meio ambiente. O cuidado com as girafas Roschild que estão ameaçadas de extinção é uma das atividades de conservação que realizamos.
Nos arredores de Nairobi, na Langata Road, está o mundialmente famoso Carnivore, conhecido como o Ultimate 'Beast of a Feast', um antro de amantes de carne onde uma vasta seleção de carnes suculentas são grelhadas no carvão e esculpidas em sua mesa. Ao lado do restaurante principal Carnivore está o 'Simba Saloon' - um vibrante restaurante informal à la carte com um parque infantil,

Great day - started at the giraffe center, Kobe Tough tour (perfect travel souvenirs), history, and a great lunch! Perfect length of activities and had personal time to rest before dinner.

On the 29th of December we went on the 1-Day Tour Giraffe Center, Karen Blixen, Lunch Carnivore tour. Our driver Joel was great. It was a very nice introduction to Kenya. We really enjoyed feeding giraffes and eating crocodile meat.

I’ve taken several of these types of tours before and this one was the best I’ve been on. Joel was personable, knowledgeable, and great with the kids. I would highly recommend using this company for your tours.

Joel was fantastic as a guide! Everything went smoothly and without a hitch. He even fit in a quick tour of a bead factory because we had a little down time before we went to the restaurant.

Peter picked us up from our hotel and took us to Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary and the Giraffe Sanctuary. Both places were excellent and Peter was a great driver and guide and a lovely guy. I would highly recommend using him as a guide.

Fred picked us up at our hotel and took us to the National Museum of Nairobi - our guide took us around and explained as much or as little as you want. It was interesting but wasn't even aware it was part of the tour. Next we went to a store that our driver was acquainted with to buy some African art - we did not ask or want this stop - but it was harmless. Next we went to the giraffe center - sooo much fun. You are given a little bowl of giraffe fee and are able to basically get face to face with them. You can even pet them - alot of fun. Next we went to the Karen Blixen house where we were introduced to another guide - she gave us the history of the house - again very interesting. If you are not aware - this is where Out of Africa was filmed. From there - we went to Carnivore - the food and atmosphere of the restaurant was just fun - food was excellent. All in all a good day. Keep in mind - if you do these tours - you will be handed off to many guides and they all expect a tip. We didn't know that so some of this didn't sit right but Fred was pretty cool - we liked him.

Those are also learning places which allow interns to learn about the industry by working there and doing guidance. The tips too aren't mandatory that's as per ones willingness. An exciting experience that doesn’t consume the whole day . Joel my guide enabled the visits to the three locations to be at my own pace . The first stop was a visit to the Karen Blixen home /museum where I had an insightful visual journey of her life and times ..mostly tragic …yet her talent as an author and artist was clear to see . I found her home unsettling as there were many relics of hunting on display The next stop was the giraffe centre It was intriguing to see feed and learn about the giraffes at the giraffe centre in Nairobi My guide Joel was polite courteous and exceptionally patient taking photos of me feeding the giraffe s. Finally being a flexitarian ,the last stop was carnivore restaurant. Impeccably clean with courteous staff I was able to enjoy seasoned vegetables with freshly prepared talapia fish . Thank you Joel’s for sharing great insights and perspectives on Nairobi culture and answering my relentless questions . I really appreciated and enjoyed this trip . .
