I had an amazing time during the whole trip! The service was excellent and everything was on time. Our tour guide, Tom, really made sure that we could see all animals that we wanted to spot and was also very knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of information about the park and animals. We also had a nice picnic inside the park. Overall, I highly recommend Tom and the company!

Our booking and organization with Axis Africa was super easy and they are very flexible and helpful with all our requests. Communication for planning is super fast, easy and straightforward. Our guide Tom was very friendly and made sure everyone felt welcome and taken care of. He knew a lot of the wildlife and was able to show us all the animals we wanted to see (and many more!!) - and he had many interesting facts about them that he shared with us along the way. We booked the whole Maasai Maria trip with Axis and we felt, that we got a lot of value for the price! 5 out of 5 - would book with them again!

Our experience with Axis Safari was overall mixed, with some very positive aspects but also some important issues. The biggest positive was undoubtedly our guide, John Mwangi. Our first interaction with the initial guide was unfortunately very poor, and after just a few minutes we asked Axis to change the guide. Axis accepted our request and arranged for John to take over, which we appreciated. John was excellent throughout the safari. He was knowledgeable, professional and particularly good at finding special wildlife encounters and positioning the vehicle at the right moments. Thanks to him, we had some truly memorable experiences, including an incredible leopard sighting. The PrideInn Mara was also a very pleasant part of the experience. The food was good, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The main disappointment was the safari vehicle. From the beginning, we had specifically requested a vehicle with canvas-covered rear windows, as we were travelling privately with two young children. When John took over, his vehicle did not have canvas-covered windows. We therefore asked Axis to keep both requirements: a different guide and a vehicle with canvas. Axis ultimately arranged for John to exchange vehicles with the initial guide, meaning we ended up using the initial guide’s vehicle — the same vehicle we had arrived in. We had only spent around five minutes in that vehicle initially, so we did not have the opportunity to properly assess its condition at that point. We chose to keep it because it was the only vehicle with canvas that Axis was able to make available to us. Unfortunately, over the following minutes, we discovered several issues with the vehicle. Most importantly, the majority of the seat belts were not functioning properly, which we found unacceptable when travelling with young children. There were also other maintenance issues, including charging ports that did not work and windows and doors that were not functioning properly. In addition, the vehicle was not particularly comfortable, which was disappointing given that this was a private safari and we spent many hours in the vehicle each day. To be fair, Axis was responsive to our requests and did make efforts to accommodate the change of guide and our requirement for a canvas-covered vehicle. However, we feel that the standard of the vehicle, both in terms of safety and comfort, was below what we expected from a private safari. Overall, John was excellent and made a significant difference to our experience, and PrideInn Mara was also very good. Unfortunately, the initial guide experience and, in particular, the condition and comfort of the vehicle prevented us from giving Axis a fully positive review.

I want to share my experience to help others know what to expect. After receiving several quotes, I chose Axis because they were extremely helpful in answering all my questions for our first safari and very flexible in adapting to our needs. I also really appreciated how upfront they were regarding pricing and options. Once in Kenya, we were lucky to have Mohamed as our driver. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he shared so many interesting facts about the savannah and its wildlife. Thanks to his dedication, we managed to see the Big Five across Masai Mara and Amboseli! The only downside occurred on our first day: our booked lodge was unavailable, and we were initially placed in an alternative option that fell short of our expectations. After some back-and-forth, we were moved to our original lodge and received a partial refund for the inconvenience. While I believe the company should have upgraded us instead of downgrading in that situation (putting customer experience over cost), the overall trip was still wonderful. I would still recommend Axis, especially if you get Mohamed as your guide!

We had an absolutely incredible experience in the Masai Mara, and a huge part of that was because of our wonderful guide, John Mwangi. From the very beginning, John was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. His knowledge of the wildlife, the Mara, and the behaviour of the animals made every game drive so much more meaningful. He always seemed to know where to go and, just as importantly, when to be patient and let nature unfold naturally. What impressed us most was his dedication to making sure we had the best possible experience. He was incredibly attentive, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, and made sure we were comfortable throughout. His sharp eyes and experience helped us spot animals . Beyond his knowledge and skills as a guide, John was simply a wonderful person to spend time with. His kindness, knowledge about wildlife and genuine love for the Mara made every day special. We came for the wildlife, but we left with unforgettable memories and a real appreciation for our guide We feel very lucky to have had him as our guide. Thank you, John Mwangi, for making our safari such a memorable and unforgettable experience!

We went on safari with George, an exceptional guide. He shared his extensive knowledge of wildlife and their way of life with us. He was also a wonderful and very safe driver, who accompanied us throughout the entire trip

Expectations were beyond exceeded during our trip. My wife and I came to fulfill our dreams of venturing off on a safari for our honeymoon. We had an absolute blast during our time. We were able to experience amazing sights of all kinds of wildlife! Overall Axis is a great company that kept in great contact and gave us amazing service. Kelvin was exceptional during tour, very knowledgeable about the animals when asked questions and answered with delightful responses. At the next chance of being able to do another safari I would 100% choose Axis again.

The tour with Axis is definitely worth it. Kelvin is a great driver and we were lucky enough to see the big 5 and a lots of other beautiful animals. My highlight was seeing the lion cubs and the leopard with it’s prey in a tree. Kelvin could answer all the questions I had and has taught me a lot about the animals which made the experience even better.

The trip was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Kevin, we saw all the animals and received expert information. I highly recommend this excursion to everyone. Thank you!
