Our guide Olga had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the Jewish history and heritage of Krakow and nearby by Tykocin and was able to impart it to us in a memorable and digestible way that was relatable to the lives of our Polish ancestors. She was also especially helpful to my wife who had walking difficulties, on the day, making it possible for us to slightly adjust the itinerary so that we were all able to complete the-day-long tour. This tour was such a great way to experience Jewish Krakow. The mix of history, people’s stories - from learned men to merchant to ghetto residents, and street art made it really engaging and personal rather than just a standard walking tour. This tour is a wonderful mix of stories about well-known and lesser-known Jews and gentiles, combined with religious and street art, and food. We decided not to include food tastings in the tour because our time was limited, but we later visited the places Olga mentioned on our own and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere.
