We went on the food tour. The food was delicious and plentiful. I strongly suggest not eating 8 hours prior to the food tour because you will get full fast. Our group was a mix of meat eaters and vegetarians. As a vegetarian, I had plentyof options. Everyone involved was hospitable and knowledgeable about the food and history. If you have any disagreements with cats, this tour may not work for you. I had to end my tour early due to the cats. However Ahmed made sure that I received the remainder of my dishes wrapped to take home. I don't understand the amount of cats in Cairo.

I had the best time on the tour with Ahmed. His tour was extremely informative and connected the food with the rich history of Cairo. Throughout the tour of old Cairo, we received more that great food from different eateries, but rather we received a rich cultural experience, witnessing the friendliness and vibrancy of the Egyptian community. This tour is highly recommended!!!! I loved everything about it!!

This was a wonderful experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was delicious. There was a lot of food, so come to the tour starving lol. I would def. do this tour again.

If you want to get into the belly of Cairo and gain some understanding of its history and rich culture and enjoy some amazing local food then look no further Ahmed will be sure to look after you with his warm and friendly company. He is an encyclopaedia of knowledge and made us feel at home . He took us to some amazing local restaurants that have served delicious Egyptian food for generations . One of the best food tours my wife and I have done . Thanks you once again Ahmed.

The tour felt more like friends catching up over good local food instead of the generic food tour business. All the spots we went to were local places with no English menus. Getting to know the people that owned the shops. Ahmed is an amazing guide and you will definitely enjoy this tour

Ahmed and Sharouk are both wonderful hosts. We had taken a walk around Old Cairo before meeting the tour group and were running about 10 minutes late. Ahmed was very understanding and reassured us not to rush. We arrived and were greeted warmly. The tour starts at a local Juice Bar where we sampled local sugar cane juice and fresh hibiscus juice. They take you on a walk through the Cairo streets stopping at lots of local family run restaurants and food stands. You will get to sample several of Egypt's staple dishes with the couple providing a wealth of information not only about the food but also about Egyptian culture. The dishes were chosen to represent what is eaten locally for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Dessert. Ahmed is multilingual and was providing translations if some members of our small group were struggling with English. I highly recommend this fun evening in the lively if chaotic streets of Cairo.

Ahmed and his wife are very welcoming and they really inform you about Egypt and its culture. It’s a long (but well worth it) experience and you get your moneys worth with the amount of food tastings and places visited. It’s a must do for anyone in Cairo!
