It was interesting! All the places worth to visit ! Maybe needed more time in the sightseeings so we can enjoy them with no rush! The guide was good ! We made a prive triple trip with a 6seats car though we were 3, really comfortable!
First of all, good communication with the team via WhatsApp (Peruvians use it a lot). The guide "Manu" was early to take us to the van (our hotel being in the steep part of Cusco, it was much more convenient). In total, a minivan with 7 people (including me and my 2 sons), so an optimal group size for us. We started by visiting a cooperative farm for raising llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas, with, of course, the shop that goes with it. This is something you need to be aware of; tourism professionals will inevitably take you to this kind of place at one point or another. Here, the experience with the animals was worth it. Then Pisac, magnificent; we took the time to walk, to get explanations, and Manu was always there to take family photos and answer questions. At Moray, we were monumentally lucky because that day there was a reenactment show of an Inca ceremony on the whole site (report on the previous harvest season, thanks to the gods, etc., in Quechua, a language that Manu speaks). At Maras, the salt mines are great too. The grand finale, Ollantaytambo, a little tour in the town that has kept the structures of the Inca city: paved streets, gutters, house walls, etc., to then arrive at the grandiose temple. 4 magical sites in one day, frankly I recommend it. Only point to change: visit to a silver jewelry store where they show us very briefly the creation processes from the ore... we already had that in Nasca.... Be careful, they sell their silver rings at least as expensive if not more than in France (you can easily find rings in France for 70€, or 273 soles; they sell them for 500 soles or more). .. The lunch is also similar for all organized tours (we did several), meaning in a restaurant made for tourists, very well organized, with a buffet which allows you to avoid wasting time. So, meh for the "local" aspect, but personally I like it because it allows you to spend more time at the sites than eating. Plus, in this case, this buffet was very good. Left around 6:30 AM and we got back around 7:00 PM... superb day. Super guide and a top-notch driver (I sat in the front, great thrills passing in the mountains!)
Amazing experience for us! The communication with tour operator was easy, they sent us all information about pick up time and our guide. The tour was great, we visited amazing places. The guide took care about us carefully, he told us many interesting information about the places and he organised everything smoothly. We had comfortable car and because we were a small group - only 6 people, we enjoyed all places a lot. The lunch was perfect too!!! We really recommend this tour.
Amazing experience! We saw so many incredible things. Our guides timed everything perfectly to avoid crowds at each location we stopped. This is a wonderful tour and teaches a lot about Peru.
This Sacred Valley tour was one of the best experiences of our trip to Peru! Starting from Ollantaytambo, we visited Pisac, Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, and Chinchero. Every destination was unique, beautiful, and full of fascinating history. Our guide was outstanding—knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging. He explained the history, culture, agriculture, and engineering of the Inca civilization in a way that was easy to understand and made every site come alive. We especially appreciated that he took the time to answer questions and never rushed the group. The transportation was comfortable, well organized, and punctual. The itinerary was well planned, giving us enough time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. A big thank you to our guide and driver for their kindness, professionalism, and excellent service. They made this a smooth, enjoyable, and unforgettable day. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Peru. It offers the perfect combination of stunning landscapes, rich history, and authentic cultural experiences. Five stars!
Great experience. Juan was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. Would recommend this tour and Juan to everyone
I really did not enjoy this tour at all. It became obvious very early on that most of the day was going to be wasted on unwanted, time-consuming shopping visits. We were hurried around the archaeological sites with almost no time to appreciate them, given only a few minutes before being hurried along, but forced to spend 1/2 hour blocks at an Alpaca farm / shopping outlet, a silver shop, etc. I honestly just wanted to leave after the second shopping stop. This is not what I am interested in at all. Complete waste of time and money. I will complain to Viator about this, as it was the worst experience I had in Peru.
I had a wonderful experience! Juan was a great guide and provided loads of knowledge about the history and culture. The small group size was perfect. We had plenty of time to take lots of photos as well as explore the sites.
This was a very nice tour. We were able to see some of the highlights of the sacred valley . We also enjoyed the option to end the trip in ollantaytambo, as that’s where we were staying for the night.
Overall, we had a very good experience! Our tour guide Jhonnatan was incredibly knowledgeable of all the sites and the history behind each location. We did not have the greatest physical fitness or altitude adjustment, but we’re able to make it through the entire tour with the patience and understanding of Jhonnatan. Would highly recommend this tour. We were two families, seven total people, including three children aged 8 to 9.
