Awesome, 2nd time we ve visited and they ve added more since we were here last (many years ago). Spectacular to visit and incredible to see. Very, very busy but well organised and easy to navigate. A must do visit.
The tour is not as advertised. The tour claims to be completely guided even within the Colosseum, which it is not. We received a message only a couple days prior saying the guide could not take us in the Colosseum and we would receive a 20% refund, which we have yet to receive almost a month after our trip. The other very disappointing part of the tour is that the guide did not even take us to the best part of the Palatine Hill (the overlook). We will not book with this tour company again.

Inclusions and Exclusions • Official Live Guide for Roman Forum and Palatine Hill Arena Floor restricted area and Entrance/Gladiator Door • Colosseum Entrance with Audio Guide v Headsets Colosseum entrance ticket with arena access valued €24 per person v Colosseum reservation fee (valued at €2 per person) We received multiple emails prior to the tour stating do not be late or you will be left behind because the tour company values the time of the people there on time. Complete lie. We waited 12 minutes for four people to show up and when those people arrived it pushed our group size to 15 not 12 max. Once everyone was there the tour guide then passes out the head seats only to discover her hands free plug in mic didn’t work so she went to find a new one. When se came back with a new one that didn’t work. Her mic did work but she would have had to hold it and not have it clipped to her shirt and she said she didn’t want to hold it so she left again and came back with a bag of mics none of which worked so she ended up having to hold it. So now finally we start the “tour” and we walk about 15 yards and stand in a line that wouldn’t have existed had we left on time. So we stand there basically on a sidewalk and listened to a rambling story about nothing for about 10 minutes outside the fence line of the actual park. Then we got inside the guide said she knew where all the shade spots are so we followed her into a corner and listened to her ramble for 15 more minutes before we walked about 10 more yards to a set of stairs where we were told to sit while she told us about a Ridley Scott movie for another 10 minutes. At this point I was ready to leave but I wanted the tour of the restricted arena floor access so I sat there. Then we left the stairs and she lead us to another corner with shade near a toilet. After 10 minutes at the toilet we were lead back to a stop about 10 yards from the place we sat on the stairs for another 5 minutes. We’ve basically seen nothing and learned almost nothing. I felt like a hostage at this point. From here she lead us to a water fountain to fill our bottles. At this point she mentions that we would NOT be allowed to go to the arena floor area and that is no longer part of the package and she and the company KNEW THAT AND NEVER MENTIONED IT. I would have 100% canceled the tour had I known there was no floor access and this company 100% knew that was the case and intentionally hide it from everyone. She had some story about nobody being allowed down but we saw other groups there. Then she quickly leads us to a spot about 20 yards from the colosseum entrance and said she needed all the headsets back and pointed at an entrance and told us that’s where we go in and left. There was no colosseum reservation we just got in line. There was no tour at all in the colosseum. Inside the colosseum our “all access tickets” were basically laughed at because they were just the most basic tickets. We tried going up to the top floors and were told that was only for guided tours which was hysterical because we paid for a guided tour and our guide was probably already at home counting my money. This entire tour was nothing but a lie and money grab. I’ll be posting this everywhere possible. I have time stamped photos of all of this.
This tour was absolutely awful. The tour company enter the wrong name for my partner and we had to buy a new ticket at the coliseum spending more money when we had already spent a lot of money to get the tour. Also, they told us when we booked we could go on the arena floor and a day before we went after we could no longer cancel they told us we were no longer allowed to go. I will never do this through this company ever again it was the worst experience.
Barbara was our guide. She was amazing. Her knowledge and obvious love for history was impressive and made the experience very enjoyable. I wish all the guides had her expertise. Please give Barbara kudos and much praise!!! If I come again I would like to request her l!!
Show Me Italy are a complete joke. Changed the time of my trip at the last minute were unable to guide us in the Coliseum due to them not being licenced didn’t respond to any calls and charged double the actual price for the tour. I

Hilaria was excellent and made the tour very fun and personable. Not sure why she couldn't escort us into the colosseum because there were other guides in the colosseum
Our guide was very knowledgeable on Roman history and took time to give us valuable information all along the tour.
When arriving at both the forum and the colosseum I was forced to buy additions tickets for 18€ each. My name didn’t match my documents. My legal name is William but I go by BJ. They would not let me in. The tour itself was fine. And the guide was very good. Additionally the guide was supposed to take us in to the colosseum but we had to do this on our own
