A beautiful half day hike! David is a wonderful guide: knowledgeable, pleasant and accommodating. Recommend!

We had a wonderful experience on the hike. David was a wonderful guide and gave us a wonderful experience. He accommodated our preferences on the hike. Although it was his first time exploring Cedar Mountain Trail he lead us through the trail so easily. David has very good knowledge about the nature around us. We truly enjoyed this experience and would love to do it again.

This being my first visit to Asheville, I knew I wanted to experience the beauty of the surrounding mountains, forests and the Blue Ridge Parkway. I was aware that some of the Parkway was still closed due to destruction from hurricane Helene so I phoned Hike Bike Kayak Asheville and spoke directly with the owner, David. Right away I knew I was in good hands. David is an expert on the history, flora and fauna of the area. He inquired about my interests and ability level and created a half day drive/hike itinerary that checked all the boxes. David is welcoming and easygoing and a wonderful baker (he supplied the most delicious trail snack: two white chocolate macadamia cookies that he baked himself.) I felt very safe as he drove the twisting roads and lead me on a hike up Black Balsam. The afternoon was the highlight of my visit to Asheville. Do yourself a favor and book with this wonderful human!

David was a great guide for our half-day tour. We saw the promised long-range views of the beautiful Blue Ridge and enjoyed a 4-mile RT hike to Black Balsam Knob. It was the perfect way to see more of the area around Asheville since we did not have a car.

We were lucky... we were able to hike nature trails to falls AND take in the Blue Ridge mountain scenery... all in a long half-day. Everything that we were looking for! Highly recommended. David, our guide, was the absolute best! Knowledgeable of the trees, flowers, plants, etc. etc. for the area. Best guide that we could have had!

David was a great guide! He asked us what our fitness levels were and what pace we liked. He was was a wealth of knowledge!

We had a wonderful hike! Our guide was knowledgable and considerate of the different abilities in our group. We would highly recommend this tour. David has an extensive knowledge of the flora of the area and is a passionate naturalist. His enthusiasm was contagious! We are hoping to come back to Asheville and book more tours with David from Hike, Bike, Kayak Asheville.

The tour and the operator were good but mt. Mitchell view were blocked by rain.when we got the top of Mitchell heavy rain started. However, I was able to see mountains. The tour operator tried to do the best in the situation like this
