Stayed in Edgartown for the 4th of July weekend. Heart of town close to shops, and traditional New England sites. The Vineyards is an old historic place with cottages and inns with an abundance of flowers and English gardens. Great place to write a book, relax and forget where you came from. Thats where it ends. Restaurant prices were Outrageous ‼️ Hotels were worse. The souvenir shops worse School was out primarily colleges students. Getting to and out of Martha’s Vineyard is Hell. There is no airport. Stood in the rain waiting to board a plane. I’ve travelled to Europe and it was less expensive. Don’t visit in July or August. Overcrowded. OVERRATED ‼️. Can’t pay me to go back.
Awesome tour- Mark was our tour guide who was amazing and answered all our questions! He was able to tell us so many fun facts and stories being a local for over 60 years. Loved it!
Mark has lots of interesting facts about our island, and he is very entertaining. Thanks so much for the 5 star review!
2 stars for at least getting a ride around. The majority of the tour was our “tour guide” telling us about her personal life growing up in MV, the different houses she lived at, where the shops are, explaining the map, and even asked the group which was the preferred route. There was only one stop at Aquinnah Cliffs, which was barely enough for a quick bathroom break and no time to check out shop kiosks. I brought family here looking for something to do from mainland MA and instead flushed away $300+ on this garbage tour.
Sorry this did not meet you expectations. She is a seasoned guide and we were surprised with your review. She has been made aware of your comments. Thank you.
It’s not a hop on hop off tour; therefore, there are limited opportunities to take great photos. It’s a 3 hour tour that takes to through all of the MV neighborhoods while pointing out historically site and facts.
We advertise a tour that goes through all six towns and stops at the seaport of Menemsha and the cliffs in Aquinnah for 15 minutes each. Those are great locations for pictures. We are not a hop on hop off tour.
We had an absolutely amazing experience! Paul was a phenomenal guide, extremely knowledgeable, and very kind. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great overview of Martha’s Vineyard from a local’s perspective.
Paul is phenomenal and is a very nice person. So glad you found the tour to be a good value for seeing the whole island!
What a blast we had with our driver he was very knowledgeable of the island and took us all over. He had such patience and did not rush us at any of the stops. Do not miss this great opportunity to view the island with this amazing guide service. Thanks Martha's Vineyard Excursions. Ben & Kim
"Having a blast" is what we like to read! Thanks for the awesome review. We appreciate you.
Harry was our driver and guide and he gave us an excellent tour of the island. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very patient. Never a dull moment, Harry is full of stories and history of every part of the island. My husband and I especially appreciate hearing all the stories about the celebrities who reside/resided on the island, and we are still amazed how someone can drive so well while talking for 3 hours straight! Thank you for a great introduction to this beautiful place.
Harry is a delightful guide. Thanks for the terrifice review. Glad you enjoyed the tour!
I learned from my tour guide, John, that Martha’s Vineyard is far more than a single destination; it is a collection of six distinct towns spread across nearly 100 square miles of pristine Atlantic coastline. A comprehensive tour splits the island beautifully between the bustling, historic "Down-Island" ports and the serene, sweeping vistas of the "Up-Island" countryside. John was excellent! Very knowledgeable about the island. We all enjoyed him!
Wonderful review of John and his in-depth knowledge of the island. Thanks for the excellent review!
Be sure air conditioning in your tour vehicle works!!! Guide was knowledgeable of various sites, folklore and had personal experiences and entertaining stories.
Glad this tour worked for you. We did have extreme 100 degrees weather for a few days and did our best to keep everyone cool.
Great tour, Harry was knowledgeable and patient with all the questions.
Glad you enjoyed your tour with Harry. He does know the island like the back of his hand.
