Benagil - Caves e Costa - Algarve Cave Capitão

Great tour, with two other families, covering all the caves between our launch point and the famous Benagil cave, and some beyond, with an opportunity to swim to a deserted beach. The tour was exactly as described, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Benagil caves are the must do attraction along the Portimao coastal area. Lots of different tours to choose from. I wanted one with a small group. My family had 7 people and our boat had 10, so very much like a private tour. We stayed at the NH Portimao Marina Hotel, and the pickup point was right outside our rooms. Boat was relatively easy for my parents to get in and out. I do recommend getting in the water at the swim spots. The water was refreshing. The captain was funny and informative. Highly recommend.

There were lots of boats doing the same tour, but this boat is smaller and we had a GREAT time. They turned the boat so we could all get the PERFECT view and shot off the formations in and out of the caves. Highly recommend.

We had such a great experience on this boat tour! The small group (only 5 people) made it feel much more personal and relaxed compared to the larger boats. Everything was very well organized, and the ride was smooth from start to finish. We explored so many beautiful caves and got to see the Algarve coastline from a completely different perspective. The tide was too low to enter the Benagil Cave, but honestly, we didn’t feel like we missed out. The other caves and coastal views were just as stunning, and the overall experience was absolutely worth it. Our captain was friendly, welcoming, and made the trip even more enjoyable. If you’re visiting Portimão, I highly recommend taking this tour, it’s one of the best ways to experience the incredible coastline.

This was such an enjoyable several hours. The captain and his first mate were experienced boaters and made us feel so comfortable while onboard. This small group experience (with a smaller boat) allowed us better access to many of the caves. Of course, the fun group also contributed to the great experience! Highly recommend.

Amazing experience w/Ricardo & captain Jorge Small group size was greatly appreciated (especially after seeing other boat tours out on the water). They took us to many beautiful caves with wonderful photo ops and took our pictures. we finished tour at a secluded beach only accessible by boat, w/ optional swim time and champagne! Could not have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend 🙌🏼

Best way to get to know the Algarve coast and caves. The captain went above and beyond to show us all the great spots, explained the history and we even had a toast with Champaign or orange juice (for the kids). So worth it!

There was a slight problem with Captain Ricardo finding the right entrance to the marina (Google's "pin" was floating around a bit on the map). However, other than that, there were only positives. The boat is operated by two people. The boat probably seats a maximum of nine. They strictly adhere to safety procedures, although they have simple equipment (life jackets). Due to the moderate wind and occasionally strong waves, the canopy wasn't deployed, but the high temperature wasn't noticeable in these conditions. I encourage you to apply sunscreen and wear a baseball cap beforehand. Mr. Ricardo tried to enter every noteworthy cave, and he did so safely. He demonstrated considerable experience and prudence in motorboat operation, as well as concern for the safety of his passengers, including accurately identifying a whim of one of the passengers and demonstrating Olympian calm. Captain Ricardo tried to tell us something interesting about many of the places we visited. The 2.5-hour trip included the opportunity to swim at an isolated beach. Therefore, it's recommended to bring swimwear, but be warned: there are no changing rooms. Masks and snorkels are provided for those eager to explore the underwater world. It's worth taking advantage of them and swimming a bit, provided you're sufficiently skilled. At the end of the tour, at the aforementioned beach, we were offered a modest refreshment in the form of a chilled fruit soda (equivalent to Sprite) or a cold drink consisting of the above-mentioned drink with a 20-80% wine mix. Not knowing the rules, I asked for a second helping and received both. In summary, the service offered by "Cave Captain" is worth the price and deserves a very good rating.

Tour and scenario were breathtaking. Very enjoyable tour. Tour guide knew the area and history. Would like to know the exact location of the meeting point as w on other tours we received a text prior to the tour with any specific details. However both the tour guide and tour did a very nice job with our tour
