Alaskan Husky Adventures - A Must Do Adventure!!

Let's face it...Alaska is stunning wherever you go. But the highlight of our trip was the summer dog sledding tour with Alaskan Husky Adventures in Willow, AK!! Our guides were awesome and so informative about how training works with all of the dogs and it was fun to get a taste of what it's like being pulled in the sled. The dogs are amazing. They all got so excited when they knew it was time to take a run and the barking just got louder and louder. But when they heard the command to mush, everyone was immediately quiet and went right to work. As dog lovers, my friend and I appreciated the opportunity to love up on all of the dogs both before and after the ride. And to top it all off, we were able to get in the pen with the two month old pups and got lots of loving from them! Once our tour was done, our guide, Dane, suggested traveling back to Anchorage via Hatcher Pass. We followed his suggestion and are so glad that we did. Stunning views!!! This was a truly amazing experience and a must do for anyone staying in the Anchorage area!!!

Amazing experience

Amazing experience! Matt, Sam and Jarren (?) were so nice and gave a great tour. The dogs were so fun and made our ride exciting. And I enjoyed hearing about their Iditarod race experiences. Worth the drive and the price. 🤩

Alaskan Husky Adventures- the best part of our Alaska trip!

Such an amazing experience! We cannot say enough good things about the Summer Dog Sledding tour. Our guide was originally from just a few towns away from us in Massachusetts, and he told us all about how he came to work with Alaskan Husky Adventures and even ran the Iditarod this past year. It was so cool to hear from someone who has experienced it firsthand! After getting oriented at the visitor's center, we went out to meet the dogs, who enjoyed getting lots of pets from us. Each sled could hold two people, so we split up into two teams of dogs. Each guide stood behind us on the sled and narrated the ride, telling us how they train the dogs in summer and winter, and all kinds of other details. We also got to see what a winter sled looks like and how it's packed for their races. At the end, we had the privilege of seeing the 6-week-old puppies! We got to play and snuggle them for a bit before our tour was done. It was such a well put-together tour, and you can also tell how much they love the dogs and their jobs. I would suggest this tour to all of my friends and family. My two teenage girls said it was their favorite memory of our trip to Alaska (and we all know how hard it is to please teenagers). Some tips: Wear something you don't mind getting muddy. It was pretty dry on the day we were there, but there were some muddy spots. They had bug spray on hand, but not a bad idea to bring some- it was definitely buggy.

Brilliant experience.

Loved this so much. The staff truly love the dogs and know them, their personalities and preferences. We learnt heaps about mushing. The sled ride itself was incredible- dogs clearly love it! A couple of spots to get out, give dogs a rest and have photos taken. Best bit? Getting to hold 8 week old puppies. Thanks for awesome experience.
