Learn more about the concentration camps and the salt mine (Poland)

Overall, I consider the experience good. In Auschwitz, it would be interesting to have visited more parts of the concentration camp, in particular Birkenau. The explanations were interesting and paused. In the salt mine, I think the guide in the salt mine was too fast, not allowing the whole group to visualize the locations at the same time as they were explained. In my opinion, you should expect everyone to arrive, so that everyone can hear the explanation and visualize the parts they were referring to.

Resposta do operador

A day Auschwitz, Birkenau and salt mines

Driver was fine on time. Guidance was good. Auschwitz very busy. Good tour and very impressive what happens there is in the 2nd world war. Birkenau incredibly large and terrible when you consider what happened here. Then on to the salt mines. Nice walk through the salt mines of about 2 hours. Spectacular that this exists.

Each site leaves you in awe, for different reasons.

It’s a tiring day (if you’re 70!). The camps don’t really spring too many surprises on most people, as it’s very well documented before you go. Needs to be visited, just from a respectful perspective. The sheer size of the camps are breathtaking in their size and scale. The salt mine was a complete surprise. Well worth the effort to get there. At all locations, the guides were very professional and knowledgeable. The whole thing can be done cheaper than Viator, but we always use them because of their reliability.

Resposta do operador

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We truly appreciate your comments regarding the scale of the sites and the professionalism of our guides. We understand that it is a long and tiring day, but we are glad you found the experience meaningful and worth the effort. Thank you also for your trust in our reliability—it is our priority to ensure that your journey is seamless and stress-free. We hope to have the pleasure of serving you again

Auschwitz/Birkenau and Salt Mine Tour

Our driver was very good about communicating the day before about changes to our time frame and was on time to pick us up and deliver us to born the Auschwitz/Birkenau and Salt Mine tours. Between the two tours, we were able to grab a hot chocolate and ice cream at the Salt Mine while waiting for it to start. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Auschwitz and Birkenau. He treated the material he shared with us with much reverence with respect to those that suffered these atrocities. The only down side was, we wish we would have had more time to read the information throughout both sites, but understand that the tours do not allow for that amount of time.

Resposta do operador

Thank you for sharing your experience. We are pleased to hear that our driver provided excellent communication and that our team ensured a smooth transition between both tours. We truly appreciate your kind words regarding our guide’s respectful and knowledgeable approach to such a difficult subject. We also understand your feedback about the pace of the tour; while we aim to provide a comprehensive experience, we recognize that the depth of the history can sometimes feel like it requires more time than a single-day visit allows. Thank you for choosing us

Great tours, but unaccommodating driver

The Auschwitz and Salt Mines tours were excellent and well organised with local guides. I would definitely recommend booking if you'd like to see both places in a day. However, our transportation and driver weren't that great. We've expected the hotel pick up between 7-8am as advertised, but our departure time was changed to 6am the day before due to a "VIP group arriving later". On the day, our driver Lukas wasn't very professional and friendly. We were travelling with two elderly adults, who were seated at the back of the mini bus despite seats being available at the front, next to the driver. He refused to accomodate their needed as "he didn't know what kind people we would pick at the next hotel ". Overall, we feel we paid quite a big sum of money £380 for this trip and we were not treated with respect.

Resposta do operador

We are sorry to hear that our tour did not meet your expectations. However, from our perspective, everything was carried out according to plan. Please note that the Auschwitz Museum may adjust the guide’s schedule depending on other groups. Regarding seating in the vehicle, with shared transport it is unfortunately not possible to choose specific seats, as all passengers need to be accommodated. For future bookings, we kindly recommend choosing private transport, where the vehicle and driver will be exclusively at your disposal. Kind regards.

Excellent guide and good driver

Our driver picked us up early at our central Krakow Hotel to take us to Auschwitz-Birkenau. We added on the Salt Mine tour also. He WhatsApp’d the day before to confirm timings and offered us a packed lunch for £12 each the day before which we accepted. I am GF and the other meal was vegetarian. Both were very good and worth the hassle free experience. My only hope about the driver was that he drove too fast; really unnecessary, but that apart he was very friendly and helpful. At the museum our guide was outstanding and I have forgotten her name but she really was excellent; do much do I have her a tip as a gesture of our thanks. Her knowledge was crisp, and she was very clearly moved herself about her role and the knowledge she imparted. Our group only had about 10 English speaking people in it so it was way to get around. We were provided with headphones to hear and they worked very well. I felt I got a good sense of the history and left feeling much better informed. Afterwards we went on to the Salt Mine which is an absolute must see.

We are delighted to hear that our driver provided helpful communication and that the packed lunch options met your dietary needs—we aim to make the day as seamless as possible for our guests. We are also thrilled that your guide at the museum made such a lasting impression; we will be sure to share your kind words about her knowledge and passion with the team. At the same time, we sincerely appreciate your honest feedback regarding the driving speed. Please be assured that we take safety very seriously, and we will address this with our driver immediately to ensure all future trips are both efficient and comfortable for our passengers. Thank you for choosing us for this important and memorable day

Auschwitz - Birkenau & Salt Mines Day Trip

The Drivers to both the Camps and the Salt Mine were really friendly and helpful and picked us up early in the morning. The Visits to Auschwitz and Birkenau Camps were not "fun" but they were very interesting, the Guide was very knowledgeable and gave great although chilling explanations as to what unfolded in the Camps, not just about the mass murders but also the dreadful daily life of the prisoners. We were then transferred to another car and headed to the Salt Mines with our driver Bolek, for a wonderful visit full of surprises that was truly fascinating and beautiful. We were also able to skip most of the queues and get inside both sites faster with the pre-booked tickets. Just be aware that doing both in a single day is somewhat "taxing" as you will be walking a lot during both visits, and in the Salt Mines you will be going down a lot of stairs throughout the visit to descend in the shafts. The Salt Mines especially is an especially long visit. Expect to be walking about 15km that day.

Resposta do operador

"Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and honest review of your experience. We are pleased to hear that our drivers, including Bolek, were able to make your transfers comfortable and efficient, and that our pre-booked tickets helped you save time at both locations. We truly appreciate your thoughtful comments regarding the emotional weight of the visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau; our guides strive to present this difficult history with the utmost knowledge and respect. It is also wonderful to hear that you found the contrast of the Salt Mine to be a fascinating experience. Your advice for future travelers regarding the physical demands of the day—specifically the amount of walking and the stairs at the Salt Mine—is incredibly valuable. We know that combining both tours is a taxing, intense, and long day, and your insight will certainly help others better prepare for what to expect. Thank you for choosing our services and for your thoughtful feedback!

Heartbreaking

Visiting Auschwitz today was one of the most moving and heartbreaking experiences of my life. Walking through a place where so much unimaginable suffering took place leaves you silent, heavy, and humbled. It’s impossible not to feel the weight of every story, every life stolen by hatred and dehumanization. What saddens me most is realizing that, despite the lessons written so clearly in places like this, the world still hasn’t fully learned. Hatred, intolerance, and violence continue to exist in new forms, against new groups, but driven by the same fear and ignorance. Remembering matters. Speaking up matters. Choosing humanity, empathy, and kindness matters — because places like Auschwitz should never exist again, anywhere. 🕯️

Resposta do operador

Thank you for sharing such a poignant and deeply thoughtful reflection. Your words capture the heavy, lingering weight of the history held within those grounds and the profound sense of responsibility that comes with bearing witness to it. It is a powerful reminder that visiting such a site is not just about historical observation, but about confronting the reality of human capacity and the enduring need for vigilance. Your commitment to choosing empathy and kindness is a vital part of ensuring those lessons continue to resonate today. We are truly honored that we could play a part in facilitating such a significant and meaningful day for you. Thank you for your vulnerability and for your powerful call to hold onto our shared humanity. 🕯️
