Começamos com uma partida antes do amanhecer (4.30 a 4.45h, dependendo da época do ano) do seu hotel para o nascer do sol do lado de fora de Angkor Wat. Entre no grande templo na escuridão do lado leste pouco visitado, e caminhe ao longo de antigos corredores de clausura, passando pelo mais longo trecho de esculturas de baixo-relevo do mundo.
O portão sul de Angkor Thom é o mais bem preservado. É abordado a partir do exterior através de uma ponte que se estende por cerca de cinquenta metros através de um fosso. De cada lado da calçada há grades feitas com 54 figuras de pedra envolvidas na execução de uma famosa história hindu: o mito da agitação do oceano. No lado esquerdo do fosso, 54 'devas' (deuses guardiões) puxam a cabeça da cobra 'Shesha' enquanto no lado direito 54 'asuras' (deuses demoníacos) puxam a cauda da cobra na direção oposta. Nesse mito, o corpo da cobra está enrolado na montanha central - Mt. Meru - talvez correspondendo aqui ao templo de Bayon no centro do local. Em todo caso, o mito relata que, quando os Devas puxaram a serpente em uma direção e os deuses empurraram a outra, o oceano começou a se agitar e precipitar os elementos. Ao alternar de um lado para o outro, o oceano era "ordenhado", formando a terra e o cosmos novamente.
Angkor Thom é o local majestoso que já serviu como a capital brilhante do Império Khmer. Reserve um momento para considerar sua grandiosidade antes de se aventurar dentro da cidade. Chegando ao templo em Bayon, aprecie suas lindas torres centrais cobertas em mais de 200 enormes rostos.
O Terraço dos Elefantes, com 350 metros de comprimento, foi usado como uma gigante revitalização de cerimônias públicas e serviu de base para a grande sala de audiências do rei. Ela tem cinco saídas que se estendem em direção à Praça Central - três no centro e uma em cada extremidade. A seção intermediária da parede de retenção é decorada com garuda e leões em tamanho natural; em ambos os lados estão as duas partes do famoso desfile de elefantes, completo com seus mahouts khmer.
Um dos mais atmosféricos de todos os templos em Angkor. Uma vez em casa para 2.740 monges, Ta Prohm hoje parece muito como no início dos anos 1850, quando o explorador francês Henri Mouhot "redescobriu" este local em ruínas. We had a guided tour by Sam and his driver Da! It was just amazing, he showed us the best spots instead of all the tourist spots! It was impressive how much knowlegde Sam had on both the temples as well as the Khmer history. I would recommend him for sure! A 10/10 experience. And he was a great cameraman as well!!

This tour was awwsome! Watching the sunrise at Angkor Wat was absolutely breathtaking, but what really made the day unforgettable was our amazing guide, Sam, and our driver, Mr. Ha. Sam was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. As we walked through the temples, he shared fascinating stories and historical details that brought each place to life. He also planned the route perfectly, making sure we avoided unnecessary walking in the heat while still seeing all the highlights. We learned so much and enjoyed every moment. Mr. Ha was equally fantastic. He was always there waiting for us at each temple exit with cold water and refreshing towels, which made such a difference during the day. It is a must do experience!

Sam was a great tour guide who took us to a great spot to watch the sunset overlooking Angkor Wat. Seeing the different temples of Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, and Ta Prohm was amazing. Sam had a lot of details to share and made it interesting with his story telling. He even added some details about the culture of Cambodia which was nice to learn. He's also great taking photos and knows all the good spots. I highlight recommend this tour! To top it off, our driver Ha was amazing and so attentive.
