Hoje visitaremos o leste de Chipre. Temos muitos pontos turísticos em nosso programa, pois Famagusta é uma das cidades históricas a serem vistas em um tempo limitado enquanto estiver em Chipre. O Mosteiro de São Barnabé será nossa primeira parada do dia. Quando ele voltou para Chipre e enquanto espalhava o cristianismo o que havia acontecido com ele. Você ouvirá tudo sobre a história do seu guia enquanto dirige para a antiga cidade de Salamina. Onde você verá o teatro, latrinas, ginásio e outros pontos turísticos. Famagusta é uma cidade medieval com vestígios de culturas históricas. Você verá a Catedral de São Nicolau, o Palácio Veneziano, que são alguns dos pontos turísticos incluídos no programa. Hoje começaremos nosso dia dirigindo para o nordeste da ilha. Nossa primeira parada do dia será o Mosteiro de São Barnabé e o Museu do Ícone. Barnabé era judeu e para seus estudos superiores foi para Jerusalém. Quando o cristianismo estava se espalhando, ele acreditou no cristianismo e voltou para Chipre e começou a espalhar a religião. Havia pessoas contra suas idéias. Eles mataram Barnabé, mas os crentes que se converteram ao cristianismo o enterraram em uma caverna sob uma alfarrobeira, mas os crentes foram perseguidos até o Egito e ninguém sabia onde ele foi enterrado por décadas. Nossa próxima parada do dia será nas Ruínas de Salamina. A fundação mítica de Salamina remonta a 11 aC. O herói da guerra de Tróia, Teucro, foi expulso da ilha grega de Salamina por não cuidar de seu meio-irmão Ajax, que havia morrido durante a guerra. Ele navegou até Chipre e se estabeleceu aqui e nomeou o Reino como Salamina. Você visitará o ginásio, o teatro, os banhos romanos e seu guia lhe contará mais sobre Salamina.
A cidade foi cercada por muralhas por Lusignans. Mais tarde, adições foram feitas durante os venezianos. Há muitos locais históricos remanescentes de muitas heranças que passaram por Chipre. Você verá muitos deles hoje enquanto passeia nesta cidade medieval.
Foi construído por Lusignans como uma Catedral em 1298-1312. Foi nomeado Catedral de São Nicolau e é uma das catedrais mais bonitas em estilo gótico. Eles estavam sendo coroados como os Reis de Jerusalém por muitos anos. Quando os otomanos tomaram a ilha, eles adicionaram um minarete e converteram em uma mesquita. Hoje em dia ainda é usado como mesquita. O lugar foi nomeado pela primeira vez como Ayasofya e depois mudou para a Mesquita Lala Mustafa Pasha. A árvore 'Ficous Sycomorus' que é plantada ao lado desta incrível arquitetura gótica remonta a 1299.
Durante o tempo otomano, Famagusta foi usada como local de exílio para muitas pessoas. Namık Kemal, o escritor era contra o sultão, então ele foi preso em Famagusta e permaneceu por 38 meses. I was in Cyprus again as I had to visit the places that I had missed on my last tip. As I was so pleased with Sirin Suha on my last visit I made all the arrangements with her again. We had a great time together. She was punctual, told us about the history of the historical sites and at the end she took us to a local restaurant where we had the local lunch. If you are going to visit Cyprus, I highly recommend Sirin Suha's tours.

I joined the "Famagusta" tour and the "Divided City Capital tour" on 25th November. Sirin is a beautiful lady, she really knows a lot about the places, of the stroll of Varosha, even it's with a bit of drizzle, she tells what she sees along the way - the dilpilated residences, the shopfronts - the sights just leave you with a sad and undescribable meaning. During the trip, I also get to see lots of churches along the way, which you know more about the history of the place! Of the Nicosia tour, one of the most lovely and reflective things I get to see were the graffitis. Sirin has a great sense of humour, snd don't be hesitant to ssk her questions, she really really expresses her viewpoints clearly no matter what, and that's really great way to keep the energy flowing! Thank you Sirin! 😊

Famagusta was unforgettable. The city’s rich and at times heavy past came through clearly thanks to the way Şirin guided us with honesty, clarity, and a strong sense of respect. She brought us to the key sites, but also gave space for reflection and conversation, which I truly appreciated.
