Quando dirigirmos para o centro da cidade, caminharemos até nossa segunda parada do dia. Este é o 'Castelo Kyrenia'. O castelo foi feito pelos bizantinos e muitas adições foram feitas por Lusignans, venezianos, otomanos e ingleses. Há um museu do naufrágio dentro do castelo onde estão expostas as ânforas, amêndoas, sementes e o naufrágio. O naufrágio remonta a 300 aC
Foi construído como um porto durante o período veneziano. Uma torre de corrente está datando do mesmo período. O porto foi construído em forma de 'U'. A Alfândega foi construída durante a época colonial. Hoje em dia o porto é usado como marina para os passeios diários de barco. Também existem muitos cafés que se pode desfrutar para beber álcool ou refrigerante
Este é um cemitério militar que remonta ao período otomano do século XVI. Acredita-se que o moseleaum no centro pertença a um dos comandantes da guarnição otomana.
A cidade foi cercada por muralhas durante o período Lusignan. Esta torre é a que resta daqueles anos.
O antigo Mercado Municipal foi construído pelos britânicos em 1887 como uma câmara municipal. Mais tarde, o mercado municipal foi o centro de frutas e vegetais frescos até recentemente. A 'Bandabuliya' foi posteriormente restaurada e tem sido tradicional bazar para café, escritório e local de eventos.
O mosteiro foi construído por Lusignans. É um dos mais bonitos mosteiros que foi construído no período medieval no Oriente Médio. Tem uma estrutura gótica. Estava em uso até 16AD.

The whole trip to Kyrenia was an incredible experience! Our tour guide, Sirin, was very kind, competent, and truly passionate. We learned so much from her about Cyprus's history, which made the sightseeing even more special. The organization was perfect and stress-free. Sirin picked us up in Nicosia, crossed the border with us, and drove us around to show us the most beautiful spots in Kyrenia by car. After the tour, she dropped us back in Nicosia safely. If you are looking for the best trip in Cyprus with a comfortable, private atmosphere, you will definitely have it with her. Highly recommended! :)

We had a wonderful day visiting Bellapais Abbey and the city of Kyrenia, with its narrow streets, the picturesque harbor, and its historic castle. Kyrenia castle in the old marina is a must to see. The shipwreck museum in the castle dates back to 300 BC - the oldest in the world. Bellapais Monastery was our second stop of the day. Located on the Kyrenia Mountain. Typical gothic style architecture. I did this tour with Sirin. She was flexible with the start time and I enjoyed the local coffee when we enjoyed outside the monastery. If you are looking for a half day tour I highly recommend this one.

Kyrenia was simply beautiful, and what made it even more special was how naturally Şirin shared her love for the place. She has this wonderful way of weaving stories into every stop, without ever overwhelming you. It felt like walking through the past with someone who not only knows the history, but genuinely enjoys sharing it. The atmosphere at the harbor, the view from Bellapais Abbey, the castle. Everything was elevated by her presence and attention to detail.
It was a great day with your friend. We'll have to head out again to a different destination on your next visit to Cyprus.
Anyone visiting Cyprus is bound to tour Girne Castle and the Bellapais Monastery. We were very pleased with this trip. Recommended for everyone.
