We did a really cool sunset cruise on the river mainly to watch the sunset which unfortunately did not happen due too cloud cover. This however did not spoil the rest of the experience. We took out the VIP package where we were entitled too unlimited drinks both akcoholic snd soft and a mixture of tapas not so good. It was a really good way to take a bobbly and choppy free trip up and down the river taking in Phnong Phens skyline from the Meekong river. Highly recommemded with friendly reassuring staff. We enjoyed a wonderful Sunset cruise on board the Kanika Boat whilst in Phnom Penh. It cost $8 USD and there are drinks and snacks available for purchase along the way. Staff were really nice & I'd certainly do it again if I come back to Phnom Penh.
We did an evening cruise with Kanika Cruise, which we booked through our hotel, Tao Riverside Residence, just a couple of hours before departure. The booking process was smooth and straightforward. We were allocated seats at the back of the boat, which was actually quite nice as it felt quieter and offered good views of the river. The cruise started on time and the boat itself was comfortable. To reach the dock, we walked through the Himawari Hotel lobby to the riverside; the cruise location was clearly signposted and easy to find. The staff were courteous, although there was a small mix-up with our order. We had ordered milk tea but were served green tea instead—essentially hot water with tea—which definitely wasn’t worth the $3.50 price. Apart from that, everything else went smoothly and the cruise itself was pleasant. If I were to do it again, I would probably book the $8 basic ticket and order drinks à la carte. The $19 package didn’t feel worth the price, as the drink choices were restricted and the tapas included in the package were just average. Also the front side of the boat has better views and the vibe is different with music. But it is more crowded. The backside had only 4 tables and there was plenty room to move around.
Beautiful sunset cruise on the River. This was a perfect relaxing way to end a day exploring this wonderful diverse and beautiful city. Staff so friendly and the food and drinks were excellent quality. Highly recommend.
Real thanks for your review 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!
Really lovely sunset cruise. Large variety of drinks and appetisers on the menu. Length of time on the cruise was just right. Beautiful sunset over the skyline and loved seeing the lights when it got dark. Great way to spend some relaxing time after a busy day.
A great cruise with a beautiful sunset! The crew was very hospitable and kind. I had a great experience and recommend it!
Access to boat is via the hotel lobby to where other also boats park so can be tricky but hotel staff very helpful. Possibly the instructions on ticket could be improved to remove fear of being in wrong place☺️… once on board great hospitality
The till downstairs has a large sticker on the back stating, “We accept Mastercard.” However, when I attempted to pay, I was informed that card payments were not accepted. While I have no issue with this policy, there was no prior warning in any communication. I approached the French lady downstairs (who I believe is the manager) to provide feedback and pointed out the misleading sign. Unfortunately, she was extremely rude, insisting it was my fault for not asking beforehand. To make matters worse, I then had to pay an additional $5 to withdraw cash from an ATM. This completely soured the experience, especially as it was we were celebrating a birthday.
We embarked on a sunset cruise of the Mekong, arranged by our tour operator, Abercrombie and Kent. The setting was potentially lovely; sunset while on the historic river could have been a lovely experience. Could have been. The operator promised A&K that our group of 15 would have been on the front of the boat. It broke its promise, relegating us to the back, in favour of walk-ones. Denied of lovely breezes, we instead had inhaled diesel fumes. We were promised Tapas. It consisted of semi-stale slices of baguette with unknown substances. I got mild food poisoning. Members of our group were billed extra for beer. Don’t. Just don’t. You’ll regret it.
Thanks to Geraldine and Jean-Pierre for their Great Welcoming! Beautiful evening on cruise ET at the dock 🍾 A first experience to do again soon I hope! Good to know: during this exceptional period and which requires a little adaptation, the boat stays at the dock after the cruise of 5pm-6.30pm and the bar and restaurant are open for a beer or a full meal, too nice to change and get some fresh air! The stuffed clams are a killing! I also believe they organize private parties, the top for a birthday or work night. In any case, I know where I am taking my next visitors from Europe to introduce them to one of the most beautiful ways to enjoy Phnom Penh.
