Bekijk de zonsondergang vanaf Pico do Arieiro, de op twee na hoogste top van Madeira, tijdens een gedeelde ervaring die is ontworpen om u te helpen genieten van deze iconische berglocatie op een rustige en handige manier. Hotel pick-up is inbegrepen binnen de vermelde pick-up gebieden. Gasten kunnen er ook voor kiezen om zelfstandig nabijgelegen uitzichtpunten zoals Ninho da Manta en de Stairway to Heaven te verkennen tijdens een optionele zelfstandige wandeling van ongeveer 2,4 km heen en terug. Reis na het ophalen tot 1.818 meter om de veranderende kleuren van de lucht boven de wolken te bewonderen in een van Madeira's meest opvallende berglandschappen. Of u nu ontspant in de buurt van het hoofduitzichtpunt of de optionele wandeling doet, deze ervaring biedt een onvergetelijke manier om te genieten van Pico do Arieiro bij zonsondergang. Pico do Arieiro is het hoogste uitzichtpunt van Madeira dat met de auto bereikbaar is, op 1.818 meter boven zeeniveau. De terugreis vertrekt 30 minuten na zonsondergang, dus gasten die de optionele wandeling kiezen, moeten hun tijd zorgvuldig beheren en voor vertrek terugkeren. Als de weersomstandigheden op de top te slecht zijn, kan een alternatief uitzichtpunt bij zonsondergang in het Palheiro-gebied worden overwogen.
Optioneel uitzichtpuntbezoek tijdens vrije tijd bij Pico do Arieiro. Ninho da Manta biedt een indrukwekkend uitzicht op de bergen en kan onafhankelijk worden bezocht tijdens de stop op de top.
Ook bekend als Stairway to Heaven, kan dit uitzichtpunt onafhankelijk worden bezocht als een optionele zelfstandige wandeling vanaf Pico do Arieiro. Gasten die van plan zijn om deze wandeling te maken, moeten bij aankomst snel naar buiten gaan en voldoende tijd hebben om terug te keren voor vertrek.
Transfer terug naar Funchal na de activiteit. De terugreis vertrekt 30 minuten na zonsondergang.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
Neem warme kleding mee, want de temperaturen bij Pico do Arieiro kunnen veel lager zijn dan in lagere gebieden. Geschikt schoeisel wordt aanbevolen, vooral als u van plan bent om de optionele zelfstandige wandeling te doen. Afhalen is alleen mogelijk binnen onze gedefinieerde servicegebieden : Funchal, Caniço en het centrum van Câmara de Lobos. Als uw accommodatie zich buiten deze gebieden bevindt, moet u ons ontmoeten op een beschikbaar ophaalpunt binnen ons servicegebied. De chauffeur zal uw naam en tour bevestigen bij het ophalen. De exacte ophaaltijd wordt meestal de dag voor de activiteit verstuurd.

- Ophalen en afzetten bij het hotel is alleen inbegrepen binnen de vermelde ophaalgebieden. Ophalen buiten het vastgestelde servicegebied is niet inbegrepen.
- Neem warme kleding en geschikt schoeisel mee. Bergtemperaturen kunnen veel lager zijn dan in Funchal.
- Bergweer kan snel veranderen en heldere uitzichten, zonsondergangkleuren of zichtbaarheid kunnen niet worden gegarandeerd. De tour werkt normaal gesproken wanneer de toegang open is en de omstandigheden veilig zijn. Als de omstandigheden bij Pico do Arieiro niet gunstig zijn, kan een alternatief standpunt zoals Palheiro of een andere geschikte locatie worden gebruikt.
- Het weer, beperkte zichtbaarheid of het gebruik van een alternatief gezichtspunt komen niet automatisch in aanmerking voor restitutie als de hoofdtour wordt uitgevoerd.
- De optionele Stairway to Heaven-wandeling is zelfstandig en onderhevig aan officiële toegangsregels, trailomstandigheden, weer, zichtbaarheid en beschikbaarheid op de dag. Eventuele verplichte trail/toegangsprijzen zijn niet inbegrepen.
- Deze wandeling is niet gegarandeerd en is niet vereist om te genieten van het zonsondergangbezoek. Het niet kunnen doen van de optionele wandeling komt niet automatisch in aanmerking voor restitutie als de hoofdtour wordt uitgevoerd.
- De terugreis is normaal gesproken ongeveer 30 minuten na zonsondergang. Als u kiest voor de optionele zelfstandige wandeling, is het aanbevolen omslagpunt het uitzichtpunt Stairway to Heaven / Miradouro da Pedra Rija. Gelieve niet verder te gaan op het pad, omdat dit het onmogelijk kan maken om op tijd terug te keren naar het voertuig.
- Als u zich realiseert dat u mogelijk te laat bent, neem dan onmiddellijk telefonisch of per bericht contact op met de chauffeur of ons team. Het voertuig kan niet eindeloos wachten op late gasten, omdat dit andere reizigers zou treffen. Gasten die niet op de afgesproken terugkomsttijd terug zijn, moeten mogelijk hun eigen terugkeer regelen.

Our driver and guide was João and he couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. He was incredibly knowledgable, took us to and showed us the best places to see the sunset and gave us a couple extra stops. He even dropped us off and an amazing place to get some amazing burgers at 23:00! Couldn’t recommend this experience more, well worth the time and money for an unforgettable adventure. This was a wild ride to see one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I would highly recommend doing this tour as it helps you avoid the annoyance of registering for the PR1 and allows you to avoid the crowds that are supposedly there are sunrise. Jorge picked us up in Funchal and weaved through the crazy narrow roads straight up through the hills and above the clouds. We arrived at about 7:45 and had plenty of time to hike to the Stairway to Heaven and even past it before sunset hit at about 9:15. We were then given a half hour to get back to the van, which allowed us to watch the colors of the sky change before it got dark. Get ready for lots of stairs, btw. Overall, it was a majestic experience to that pictures can't really capture.

Good communication, well organized. Nice driver. Great atmosphere - and with luck, a full experience! Down in Caniço, it was completely cloudy, and at Pico, there was a lot of sun above the clouds. But I think, even with clouds, it is a great place in the evening...
Mind you this is just a drive to Pico de Aiero. Nothing more. Once you get there you will be left on your own and picked up at 9:30PM. I read many reviews an none of them mentioned this aspect. We paid $147 dollars for 2 persons just to travel in a poor van that made me wonder if it's going to fail during the "race" to the mountain back and forth. I could have booked a taxi for the trip and fel much safer... In any case br aware that this is nothing but an overpriced trip to Pico. Look for other tours that are cheaper and perhaps offer same...
Thank you for your review. This activity is a sunset transfer to Pico do Arieiro, with free time at the viewpoint before the scheduled return pickup. The service was provided as described in the booking option. This remains one of the most affordable and practical ways to visit Pico do Arieiro at sunset without renting a car. A private taxi for the same route, waiting time, and return journey would normally be more expensive and may not provide the same scheduled return arrangement. Our vehicles are licensed for tourism transport and maintained regularly. Safety is always a priority, and we do not compromise on passenger safety.

Weather a big factor. No sunset and walk would have been dangerous as clouds were over the path. Driver Gil was very friendly.

On this day, our driver made the correct decision not to proceed with the walk because the conditions on the path were not suitable. Practically it’s only the transfer to the spot. If the weather is not fine (fog and rain) it is not an activity worth doing. Check the weather and make sure it will be sunny and warm.

This experience is designed as a sunset visit to Pico do Arieiro with transport included and the possibility of doing the optional Stairway to Heaven walk when weather and safety conditions allow it. Pico do Arieiro is a high mountain location, so fog, cloud, rain, wind and temperature can change very quickly. For this reason, clear sunset views and warm weather can never be guaranteed. When access is open and conditions are safe, the tour operates as scheduled. The optional walk may be adjusted or not recommended if the weather makes it unsuitable. Mountain weather is outside the control of any operator, but we always aim to provide a safe and well-organised visit.
Be aware that they are NOT cancelling the trip due to bad weather. ( But some companies are so kind to do that ) This company drove us up to the mountain and there was no view on top AT ALL and rain. There is a web cam on top, they could have checked. (We too)

On the day of your tour, the road and access remained open, and there was no official closure or safety restriction preventing the tour from operating. In these conditions, the tour goes ahead as scheduled. We understand that poor visibility is disappointing, but weather conditions in the mountains are outside the control of any operator.
