Useless. Nowhere it states a minimum quantity before the bus departs. But we had to wait like fools hoping to reach the minimum quantity. Have a megapass but get sent up and down to have a ticket printed after we've been in the office for how long and then the ticket doesnt even work.

Under certain circumstances the sunset tour departure do require minimum passenger numbers to operate. I am not giving 1 star because I was very satisfied with the experience before this incident occurred. We booked the premium tour for March 6th and 7th, 2026. On March 6th, we boarded the sunset tour bus but decided to get off again because the fog was extremely heavy and visibility was only a few meters. When we tried to board the bus again on March 7th, we were initially refused entry. Even worse, the employee we spoke to started shouting at me, despite the fact that I remained polite throughout the conversation. After speaking with a manager, the situation was resolved because our tickets had only been scanned and not actually used. However, even if the tickets had been used, I believe it would have been reasonable customer service to offer the second ride given that the visibility the previous day was extremely poor. We have also booked an Xplorer Tour for March 12th, but this experience has made us reconsider whether we want to continue with that booking. I hope the company will address this issue, provide additional training to the staff member involved, and clarify the customer service policy in situations like this.

It’s a popular spot so don’t expect to have it to yourself but the views are truly spectacular and personally I would not risk the drive up Signal Hill in my own car as it gets quite busy and congested. I was thankful that it was as the driver’s responsibility to get us back safely.

We did this trip as we enjoy sunsets and it came as part of our two day Hop On Hop Off ticket - If we had known the experience we wouldn't have bothered - Over commercialised cars everywhere making it extremely difficult for the buses to get in and very difficult to get out - Possibly the time of year with the winds didn't help But much preferred the sunset we saw form the bay - But hey it didn't cost us anything

Lovely evening, both watching the sun set and viewing the city lights on the way down the hill. This is a very popular sunset spot, so expect a crowd, very heavy traffic and slow travel time. Our driver did a good job navigating through the masses and returning us on time.

After the 1st 2 and a half day of well mannered and friendly staff it all was distroyed by a ryd and arrogant driver after returning from the sunset tour. We were left steabded at the VA waterfront and was told that we can get a taxi to take us to the. Hotel. So I asked how can he just tell us that and not offer a alternative. His rwaonce was that the number is on the broushure and we can call them What a insult as the office is closed I was planning to buy ticket for 2 more days but that will never happen I will not give a good reference of this bus service and will rather fly back than buy more tickets from hop on hop of This is not open for discussion as I do not believe that any good will come from it.

We understand how frustrating it must have been to feel stranded after the sunset tour, especially after receiving friendly and well-mannered service over the previous two and a half days. However, bring dropped at the V&A Waterfront is hardly being stranded as its the safest area at night with loads of transport options. It is also important to understand that the Sunset Bus operates exactly as advertised online and in our brochure — departing and returning exclusively to Stop 1 at the V&A Waterfront. As such, drivers are not able to offer door to door drop off after the tour. While we understand that returning by taxi to your hotel may have been an inconvenience, we strive to clearly communicate these fixed routes in our brochures, on our website, and through staff when booking. We have reviewed the on-bus camera and audio footage and can confirm that while the driver was not unfriendly or intentionally rude, he may not have communicated in a way that met your expectations or clearly explained the situation. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We regret that this situation has impacted your overall impression of our service. While this response may not change your decision, please know that your concerns have been taken seriously. We hope that the rest of your stay in Cape Town is enjoyable, and we thank you for having toured with us.
