Reisroute

Such a great way to see the life and culture of downtown Yangon and, in fact, a snapshot of all of Myanmar! Sights, sounds, flavours and a great guide. Highly recommended.
It's our pleasure to share with you all that Yangon has to offer. Great to hear you enjoyed the experience and thanks for sharing about it on here.
Just wrapped up an unforgettable food tour in Yangon — and wow, what an experience. From hidden teashops in quiet alleys to sizzling street-side mohinga, every stop was bursting with flavor, history, and heart. The guide didn’t just show us where to eat — he brought each dish to life with stories, context, and local charm. It wasn’t just about the food (which was incredible), it was about connecting with the city and its people. If you want to taste Yangon — its resilience, creativity, and culture — this tour is a must.
It's our pleasure to share all the flavours of Yangon with you. Thanks for your review!
We had such a great time, we ate so many different dishes. Really loved walking around town also, he gave us some extra interesting pointers on the city. Thanks for the great tour, we will definitely be back for the dinner tour !!
Thanks for sharing about your experience, really great to hear you had a good time. We hope to see you again for the dinner tour!
Highly recommend a tour with Sa Ba street food tours. I went during a trip visiting my wife’s family who lives in Yangon. It was a lot of fun going around with my son, who was visiting Myanmar for the first time. My favorite part of the tour was trying different preparations of teas and pastries. It was also nice to have some bits of the tour for both my wife and mother in law who know Yangon and my son and I who don’t.
It was really great to show you and the family around and your connection to the country added a very unique perspective! Thanks for joining and thanks for the review!
The tour is a must-do when you visit Yangon! We visited a lot of local vendors and tried a lot of different food. Marc is a great tour guide. It was amazing! Even for those with a sensitive stomach, this tour did not give any issues afterwards ;)
Was a pleasure showing you and your family around our favourite eating spots! Thank you kindly for great review.
We had a great morning with Marc, we really appreciated his culinary and cultural insights, and the food was amazing! We wholeheartedly recommend SaBa to anyone who is new to Yangon - Marc provided a great introduction.
Excellent to hear you both enjoyed the experience and the food. Thank you for your great review!
Outstanding in every way. I intend to go back for the evening tour very soon. Yangon itself is beutiful and peaceful. Everyone we encountered walking the streets and markets greeted us with a smile. Marc, the guide, knows his food, history and culture. We went well over the time and he never showed any impatience. I'm sure I asked plenty of inappropriate questions, but he did his best with all of them. The food was fantastic. It was a great intro to Myanmar. I picked up a few words and I know some dishes that I like and even some places to get them. Interestingly, he is a food hygiene expert. He has taught many of the street vendors and he is alert to what may not be healthy for us sensitive westerners. The pace is great. The walk itself is easy and could be handled by almost anyone. I will be here for two more weeks and this was the perfect way to start to get oriented. If I was running an embassy or something like that, I would make this tour mandatory for new people.
Very happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with Sa Ba. It's our pleasure to share with you this side of Yangon that we love. Thank you kindly for taking the time to write this review!
This should be a requirement for all that visit Yangon. I can't believe I waited almost a year since arriving in this beautiful city to do this! This was so fantastic. Included amazing breakfast food, rich history lessons and a 101 class on traditional market shopping. I learned about all the vegetables I constantly see and didn't know what they were or how to cook them. Highlights: a 45 year old bakery and their coconut pastries, traditional Burmese tea and tea leaf salad at a tea house, coconut grinding for flour and cream in the wet market. Now we cant wait to do the evening tour. 10 stars! *We went with my 3 year old and she loved it as well and could easily keep up!
It was great to have you and the family join us to explore what's cooking post lockdown. Thanks for sharing about your experience and we look forward to sharing the dinner tournwith you too.
Had the best morning with MiMi around the markets and local food joints of Yangon. She was a fantastic guide and seemed very happy to share her knowledge about food and Burmese life. The food was amazing, and catered for our food needs (shellfish allergy), and we really enjoyed eating and engaging with the local people of Yangon. Recommend to everyone, and definitely pace yourself - plenty of food!!
A pleasure to introduce you to the food and faces of Yangon. Very glad to hear you enjoyed the experience and thanks for sharing about it on here.
We had. great morning with Marc wandering round the narrow streets and back allleys of downtown Yangon and stopping at food stalls, tea shops, hole-in-the-wall restaurants and market stands. We ate so much good food! Pastries, sticky rice, mohinga, tea leaf salad, shan noodles, fresh coconut milk, sweet Myanmar tea. These are all really typical Myanmar foods, you see them on the streets all the time. But for most of us we never dare to try, or don’t know what it is we should be ordering. Marc rolls all these experiences into a great tour. He’s fun to be with, treats the shop and stall owners as friends, and knows a lot about the food and the culture. We even learnt about some of the buildings we were passing, and the history that’s taken place there It helps that Marc is a chef, has lived in Yangon a long while, and speaks the language. His colleagues are really skilled too, so either way you’ll pick up a lot of local knowledge. My advice: pace yourself! The food is so good and you just can’t eat it all!! I seriously recommend you do this tour!
Thanks for such a glowing and detailed review. A pleasure to show you what's cooking in the mornings here and really happy to hear you enjoyed the experience.
