De stadsmuur, het symbool van de oude hoofdstad Xian, is een must-see plek voor reizigers. Met een groep van 8 personen of minder brengt uw professionele gids de glorieuze geschiedenis van Xi'an tot leven op deze 2 uur durende wandeling. Je gids wacht op je op het ontmoetingspunt. Ze zullen u kennis laten maken met de fascinerende geschiedenis en cultuur van deze oude stad tijdens de wandeling van 10 minuten naar de South Gate of City Wall. Als de transportoptie is geselecteerd, wordt u met de auto overgebracht en ontmoet u de reisleider bij South Gate. Xi'an City Wall is de grootste en best bewaarde oude stadsmuur in China. Het diende als het militaire verdedigingssysteem in de oudheid, wat terug te voeren is tot de Tang-dynastie. Nadat je bent aangekomen bij de stadsmuur, kun je ervoor kiezen om de muur te voet te verkennen of te fietsen om van het panoramische uitzicht over de stad te genieten en 600 jaar geschiedenis langs je gezicht te laten fluiten. Uw gids vertelt u het verhaal dat zich onderweg in de hoeken van de muur bevindt.

We did the bike ride along the top of the city wall at night which was magical. It was cold and a light snow was falling which added to the enchantment. Our tour guide, Noble, who is a native of Xi’an, was a wealth of information. We learned about the history of the wall and its unique features and architecture. In preparation for the Chinese New Year there were dozens of massive lighted figures of all types of things including dragons, horses and others along the south wall. The figures were bright and colorful lending to the magic of the experience. Highly recommend this experience.

Most people focus on the terracotta warriors (which are amazing by the way) but risk missing out on a very unique experience to visit the Xi'an City Wall - China's only intact ancient city wall. The history is fascinating, and when else do you get a chance to ride a bike on such an historic ancient monument!? Our tour guide Ken was extremely knowledgeable, and helped us understand more about Xi'an and the city wall. Definitely recommend this tour - you can do it quickly or take more time and stretch it out, it's up to you. Very glad we made the time to do this!
