Ontmoet elkaar aan de onderkant van York's Shambles bij de leuningen van St. Crux Church, zoek naar The Wizard Walk bord!
De kortste straat van York (met de langste naam!), en een heerlijk grillige plek om het decor te vormen voor onze betoverende wandeling door deze betoverende stad!
We nemen een toverstok-er mee door de meest iconische straat van York, en de meest betoverende straat ter wereld! We komen langs winkels die eigenaardige drankjes en toverwaren verkopen terwijl we onze zoektocht naar magische wezens beginnen... *Als het te druk is, wagen we ons in plaats daarvan aan de aangrenzende Colliergate
Mad Alice Lane... we zouden gek zijn om hier niet te stoppen, terwijl we zoeken naar die zeldzame en mystieke vogels... de Phoenix! Zal dit prachtige wezen een paar veren doen schudden, en wat vogel-hersen magie zal onze tovenaar de volgende keer?
Candy is dandy, en dus stoppen we in de buurt van York Sweet Shop op zoek naar ons volgende magische wezen! Heb je een zoetekauw? Geen tijd om te snacken, maar kun jij helpen een chocoladekikker tevoorschijn te toveren? Spring erop af!
We lopen in de schaduw van York Minster, versierd met waterspuwers, grotesken en allerlei eigenaardige wezens! We gaan op zoek naar een rat uit het pesttijdperk van de stad. Kan een rat echt toveren? En welke 'staarten' zullen hierna worden verteld? Ontdek het tijdens deze betoverende tour!
De volgende op onze lijst is een magische muis! Kom alles te weten over timmerman Robert 'Mousey' Thompson en kijk met verwondering toe hoe uw tovenaarsgids een eenvoudige zakdoek in een witte muis verandert en deze vervolgens tot leven brengt.
Onze Tovenaarswandeling gaat verder door de achterstraatjes van Bedern, terwijl we onze lijst met magische wezens doornemen op zoek naar een ongrijpbare uil. Verwacht onderweg genoeg verrassingen, het is altijd een HOOT op The Wizard Walk of York!

We had a great time with a couple of 4 years old they really got the humour & the wizard kept them really engaged. Would definitely recommend
We had a wonderful hour! Phoenix was very funny and kept everyone interested. Our 7 year old daughter loved it. Mum loved the owl ring.
Excellent entertainer for kids, really got my daughter engaged (and she has a very short attention span). Funny for adults too!
✨ A truly magical experience from start to finish! ✨ The Wizard Walk of York was fully booked when I first looked, but I joined the waiting list and I’m so glad we did — getting a place was absolutely worth it. Our 6-year-old daughter was completely captivated the whole way through. From receiving her very own wand to learning and mastering the tricks afterwards, she was enchanted from beginning to end. It was wonderful seeing her imagination come alive and watching her proudly trot along next to Phoenix the Wizard. The walk itself was such a brilliant way to discover York. We were taken through hidden little corners and charming spots we may never have found ourselves, with plenty of jokes, surprises and clever tricks to keep both children and adults entertained. It was the perfect balance of storytelling, magic and exploring this beautiful city. A huge thank you for creating such a memorable experience, it’s the kind of activity that leaves children (and grown-ups) with magical memories. A definite must-do if you’re visiting York! 🪄
Fantastic tour today with Phoenix! My kids really loved this, they’re 7 and 10. The Wizard was excellent with children and had them totally engaged instantly. My 7 year old is a hard audience as well! Both laughed and smiled throughout. Great experience, I’d highly recommend.
Jonathan, the guide, was exceptional. Fantastic with children and my sister, a special needs adult, also very funny with the adults, jokes and entertainment value…top marks… the best visitors attraction on our stay in York. We’ve been on a few attractions, most very good but he really was great 😊 👍 Thank you
Thoroughly enjoyed, kept all adults and children entertained and engaged throughout. The children loved the wizardry jokes and Jean thought the guide was great 😊
We just did the walk today at York this afternoon with he who calls himself Phoenix and it was possibly one of the best travel experiences that we ever had. Yes, it’s a walk around York taking in the sights of The Shambles, Yorkminster and all those really cool winding roads but sad to say, they possibly are second to none to the guide, I mean, Wizard, who made it positively such a memorable time. It may be a children’s walk but trust me, the adults are all suitably entertained with the tear-able pun-ny jokes that any editor worth their salt would have long torn the joke book apart already, I laughed until sides ached and my daughter, I was so happy to see, had such a happy smile on her face. This is a must-go.
The tour is brilliant for families, the wizard was so engaging with the kids and was like the pied piper through the streets of York. My children (age 4 and 7) absolutely loved the stories, tricks and jokes. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is there was no information about York given to us. I was expecting to be told a bit about the city as we walked around which was a shame.
Hi Becky, and many magical thanks for your review - I'm so glad to hear how much The Wizard Walk was enjoyed. We're certainly not an educational or historical tour, and don't advertise the experience as this. There are lots of those in York, and we prefer to focus solely on unforgettable family fun. Adding in facts and figures would only make the tour too long for children - we like to keep things pacey and packed with magic moments and laughs aplenty!
