Maak je klaar voor een dag vol avontuur terwijl je door het hart van het weelderige regenwoud van Costa Rica peddelt aan de wereldberoemde Pacuare River. Deze opwindende reis bevat 18 mijl aan stroomversnellingen van klasse III en IV, perfect voor zowel beginnende rafters als doorgewinterde peddelaars (12+ jaar). Uw dag begint met een vroege hotel pick-up in San José, gevolgd door een schilderachtige rit door Cartago en het platteland naar Turrialba. Onderweg geniet u van een heerlijk inclusief ontbijt voordat u aankomt bij het startpunt van de rivier. Na een veiligheidsbriefing en uitrustingsmontage door uw deskundige gidsen, kan het avontuur beginnen! Navigeer door spannende stroomversnellingen zoals Huacas, Rodeo, Pinball en Dos Montañas, met pauzes om watervallen en het prachtige regenwoud te bewonderen. Midway, tanken met een picknick lunch aan de rivier midden in de natuur. Turrialba – Traditioneel Costa Ricaans ontbijt & schilderachtige rit Duur : 1 uur • Toegang inbegrepen Begin je avontuur met een schilderachtige rit van San José naar de prachtige Turrialba-regio, omringd door glooiende bergen, weelderige landbouwgrond en tropisch regenwoud. Geniet onderweg naar de rivier van een stevig traditioneel Costa Ricaans ontbijt met gallo pinto, eieren, vers tropisch fruit, tortilla's en lokaal gebrouwen Costa Ricaanse koffie. Deze stop biedt de perfecte gelegenheid om bij te tanken voor een spannende dag raften terwijl u geniet van het rustige platteland. 2. Tres Equis – Veiligheidsbriefing & Rafting Base Duur : Ongeveer 2 uur • Toegang inbegrepen Aankomst bij het rafting operations center waar u uw team van professioneel gecertificeerde tweetalige rafting gidsen ontmoet. Voordat ze de rivier op gaan, krijgen gasten een uitgebreide veiligheidsoriëntatie over peddeltechnieken, riviercommando's, reddingsprocedures en het juiste gebruik van apparatuur. 3. Huacas – De spectaculaire Pacuare Canyon Duur : Ongeveer 2 uur • Toegang inbegrepen Ga verder door een van de meest adembenemende delen van de Pacuare River. Torenhoge canyonmuren verheffen zich dramatisch boven de rivier terwijl dicht tropisch regenwoud je aan beide kanten omringt. Dit afgelegen gebied is alleen bereikbaar via de rivier, waardoor het een van Costa Rica's verborgen natuurlijke schatten is. Navigeer door opwindende stroomversnellingen van klasse III en IV voordat u door rustigere stukken drijft waar u het ongelooflijke landschap ten volle kunt waarderen. Deze sectie biedt uitstekende mogelijkheden voor fotografie en wildlife observatie.
4. Pacuare River – wildwaterraftavontuur & lunch aan de rivier Duur : Ongeveer 3 uur • Toegang inbegrepen Ervaar het hoogtepunt van uw dag terwijl u raft door een van 's werelds mooiste wildwaterrivieren. Uw avontuur combineert spannende stroomversnellingen met rustige stukken helder water waar watervallen direct in de rivier stromen en weelderig regenwoud elke bocht omringt. Een van de meest memorabele momenten is het navigeren door een opwindende Class IV stroomversnelling die tussen torenhoge canyonmuren raast en zowel adrenaline als een onvergetelijk landschap levert. Halverwege de reis stopt u bij een rustige locatie aan de rivier om te genieten van een heerlijke picknick-achtige lunch, omgeven door ongerepte natuur, voordat u stroomafwaarts verder gaat. Na het voltooien van de raftingervaring keert u terug naar het operatiecentrum om droge kleren aan te trekken voordat u begint aan de comfortabele rit terug naar San Jose

Because of daily changes in water level, flow, and almost daily rain, you may or may not be able to go down the Pacuare River. The morning of our tour we were informed that we could not go down the Pacuare because of too much water and dangerous conditions. So they took us down the Pejibaye River. It was really a beautiful and fun river with class 2 and 3 rapids and beautiful jungle scenery, but not the jaw dropping beauty of the Pacuare with its class 3 and 4 rapids. We were disappointed in the change, but understand that these guides take safely seriously and found a great alternative nearby. Our guides were fantastic and lots of fun. The entire experience was professional and well executed.

Explorers A must-do in Costa Rica!!!! We were a family with three teenagers, 13, 15, and 17, and there were six of us plus a guide in one raft. The tour started at 8:00 AM with breakfast. We were at the river around ten. We took a break halfway through with fresh pineapple and then continued until 2:00 PM. There are many class three and four rapids on the Pacuare River! It is super fun but certainly not entirely without danger! In any case, muscle soreness afterward is guaranteed 🤣

We had the pleasure of experiencing the Pacuare whitewater rafting as part of a group trip. A good hour into the jungle - there an unusual and heartwarming stopover with two overnight stays and then about 3 hours out of the jungle back to normality - a real highlight of our trip

Absolutely do not risk your vacation or your health with this company. This was one of the worst and most unsafe experiences I have ever had while traveling. I have gone whitewater rafting four times before in the U.S. and other places, and I have never fallen into the water or been injured like this. With this company in Costa Rica, I ended up seriously injuring my knee, needing a wheelchair, and ruining the rest of my Costa Rica trip. The raft guides were very disrespectful and constantly talked down to people instead of making anyone feel safe. Their attitude was horrible. They acted like they knew everything, but they did not seem properly trained or capable of controlling the raft when the river got rough. People were falling into the water, the situation felt chaotic, and the guides seemed more focused on blaming guests than actually doing their job. Whitewater rafting is already risky, but this felt unsafe because of the guides, not just the river. They seemed inexperienced, unprepared, and extremely unprofessional. I have rafted before and know the difference between a normal adventure activity and a poorly managed, dangerous operation. This was the first time I was seriously injured, and I believe it could have been avoided if the guides were better trained and more responsible. This place is highly overrated. If you are visiting from the U.S. or anywhere else, I strongly recommend staying away. You could seriously get hurt here. The unprofessional staff, poor control, and unsafe environment made this a terrible experience from start to finish. Absolutely do not risk your vacation or your health with this company.
