Je gaat op tournee naar het westen van het eiland. Door historische plaatsen gaan die iedereen die op Madeira aankomt zou moeten bezoeken, zoals Câmara de Lobos, Cabo Girão, Ribeira Brava, Encumeada, Paúl da Serra, Porto Moniz, Seixal en São Vicente.

Een oogverblindende vissersbaai met veel kleurrijke vissersboten. Reis door de smalle straatjes vol leven en met een verrassing in elke hoek. In de buurt van de pier vind je verschillende bars en restaurants waar je kunt proeven van lokale gerechten en drankjes.
Dit is één van de hoogste zeekliffen ter wereld en de hoogste van Europa (entree niet inbegrepen). Een uitkijkpunt met glazen bodem, biedt adrenaline uitzicht over de fajã 580 meter lager, en een panoramisch uitzicht over Funchal en Câmara de Lobos.
Dit kleine stadje aan zee ligt tussen hoge bergen die naar het centrum van het eiland leiden. Met verschillende winkels en cafés, kunt u genieten van het uitzicht aan de promenade. Hier zijn verschillende bezienswaardigheden te vinden, zoals de vuurtoren en het fort van São Bento.
Dit plateau, gelegen op 1300-1500 meter hoogte, biedt een prachtig uitzicht over de groene bergen en valleien. Het is ook de locatie van Rabaçal en het startpunt voor vele beroemde levada's, zoals Risco en 25 Fontes.
U zult uw eerste bezienswaardigheden van Porto Moniz hebben die van hoog in de bergen aankomen, direct naast de zee met zijn natuurlijke zwembaden (entree niet inbegrepen) en zijn pure prachtige landschap. Hier is het lunchtijd (entree niet inbegrepen) en ben je vrij om naar het restaurant, café of de zwembaden te gaan verkennen.
Direct na Porto Moniz komt u aan in Seixal. Dit platform dat vanuit de bergen de zee in stroomt, heeft zijn eigen natuurlijke schoonheid. Met weelderig groene bergen in de rug en de blauwe oceaan voor je. Hier kunt u ook de beroemde waterval "Véu da Noiva" (bruidssluier) zien.
Aan zee ligt deze gemeente tussen een bergketen in zuidelijke richting. Met twee enorme bergen aan elke kant is dit zeker een herkenningspunt bij een bezoek aan het noorden van het eiland. Met veel cafés en restaurants proeft u gegarandeerd van de lokale gastronomie.

The tour guide made alot of sexual comments in the tour. As a woman we felt a bit taken back by 4 different comments that all pertained to be sexual. This should not be allowed as he was a good driver and made good suggestions. He must tone down the sexual comments. Nobody was laughing either. :(

A beautiful way to discover the island. Breathtaking landscape. Grandiose. However, 8:00 AM for this activity was a bit long.

Excellent communication from our tour provider beforehand and Paolo was waiting for us at our agreed pick up point. We had several stops across Funchal as others joined our trip but we were soon on our way to see the sights of Madeira. There were 10 of us in total, English and French speakers and Paolo drove well, providing excellent commentary as required during our trip. Definitely recommend this trip and Paolo was a great guide!

Our guide Bruno was a superb driver on the very steep roads always carefully taking the many turns and parking in safe and convenient spots. The 30 min stops are sometimes a bit of a rush depending on how busy a spot is e.g. Cabo Girão had a queue to purchase the ticket (better to buy it in advance online) and was busy on the platform too. If you need a toilet stop (bring 0,50cents) as well it can be tight. Bruno had a lot of interesting information which he explained to us during the drive between stops. He is a fun and humorous guy who shows care when things need attention. We had to take a little detour towards the end because someone slipped and needed medical care. Bruno handled the situation in a calm and organised manner. We had a great tour and I would recommend it highly.

The information provided in the itinerary sums up this interesting day tour. The tour is well paced with more than enough time at each stop on the route. Our guide Paulo was informative and would answer any additional questions which I posed. He was a friendly and humorous character, who I noticed was very attentive to his more mature guests. As an overview and introduction of the west and north of Madeira I would recommend this tour.

My wife and I had a wonderful day on this tour of beautiful landscapes of the island. Our tour guide, Richard provided a wealth of information about the culture, history and local fauna of the various areas.
