Uw tour is alleen uw tour! Geen gemengde groepen! Je krijgt je eigen speciale Driver / Gids en 'Memory Creator' voor je hele tour. Geniet van een ~ 8 uur durende privétour met het beste van Wellington - Oriental Bay, Mt Victoria, Weta Cave, Massey, Wahine en Ataturk gedenktekens, schilderachtige rit van oostelijke en zuidelijke baaien, Wellington Wind Turbine in Brooklyn, Pukeahu National War Memorial Park / Tombe van onbekende soldaat, Wellington Kabelbaan, parlementsgebouwen en de oude St Pauls kathedraal. Opmerking : Voor passagiers van cruiseschepen zal deze tour op een iets gereduceerde route worden uitgevoerd.

We maken een korte wandeling over het terrein van het Parlement, waar uw gids u zal wijzen op de iconische 'Beehive', Houses of Parliament en het gebouw van de parlementaire bibliotheek.
Gebouwd tussen 1865 en 1866 Old St Pauls Cathedral is een van de beste voorbeelden van gotische Revival architectuur in de wereld. De kathedraal is bijzonder aangrijpend voor Amerikaanse bezoekers. Een groot contingent van de American Marine Corp was in 1942 gevestigd in en rond Wellington en veel mariniers zouden zondagsdiensten bijwonen. De Amerikaanse Marine Corp vlag en de Amerikaanse nationale vlag van die tijd met 48 sterren hangen trots in de kathedraal. Hier hebben we een rondleiding met een Heritage NZ medewerker die een uitgebreid overzicht geeft van de geschiedenis van de kathedraal.
Maak een ritje op Wellington's al lang bestaande, iconische toeristische attractie - de Wellington Cable Car. Je gids neemt je mee naar het toegangspunt en ontmoet je vervolgens op je eindbestemming - Kelburn.
We maken een wandeling door de prachtige Lady Norwood Rose Garden in de Wellington Botanical Gardens. Als de rozen niet in bloei staan, kan een korte wandeling door de tuinen gemaakt worden.
Zet je I in het iconische Well_ington-bord, wandel langs de haven voor geweldige fotomomenten in de stad en de haven en bekijk het standbeeld van Kupe waarop de legendarische Polynesische ontdekkingsreiziger met zijn vrouw Hine Te Apārangi en zijn tohunga (priester), Pekahourangi, te zien is.
Maak een schilderachtige rit langs Oriental Bay en slinger over de smalle wegen van Wellington naar Wellington's populairste uitkijkpunt. Hier genieten we van majestueuze uitzichten over de stad en de haven.
Dompel jezelf onder in de magische wereld van het maken van films en speciale effecten in de Weta Cave. Let op : het bezoek aan de Weta Cave is exclusief de rondleiding achter de schermen van de Weta Workshop.
Bekijk het majestueuze monument en de tombe van de rustplaats van voormalig premier William Massey en zijn vrouw Christina.
Lunch en een drankje naar keuze in dit iconische Eastern Bays Cafe.
We bezoeken verschillende gedenktekens in Seatoun en Breaker Bay voor 51 mensen die op 10 april 1968 op tragische wijze om het leven kwamen door het zinken van de Inter Island Ferry Wahine. In feite zouden nog eens 2 mensen sterven na de tragedie als gevolg van verwondingen die op die noodlottige dag zijn opgelopen.
We bezoeken het Mustafa Kemal Atatürk-monument, de eerste president van de Republiek Turkije boven Breaker Bay. Het monument kijkt uit over Cook Strait en de locatie is gekozen vanwege de opmerkelijke gelijkenis met het landschap van het schiereiland Gallipoli in Turkije. Het monument is bijzonder aangrijpend voor Australische, Nieuw-Zeelandse en Turkse bezoekers die de ANZAC Gallipoli-campagne tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog herdenken.
Bekijk Wellington's eerste windturbine en geniet van een ander majestueus uitzicht over de stad en de haven.
Bezoek de tombe voor de onbekende soldaat en betuig ons respect aan alle Nieuw-Zeelandse militairen die het ultieme offer hebben gebracht.
Eindig uw volledige dagtour door Wellington met het proeven van award winnende Gelato in het Zelati Dessert Cafe, een iconisch familiebedrijf van de 2e generatie.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
CRUISEPASSAGIERS - Let op de volgende belangrijke informatie : Ophalen Wellington cruisehaven, Aotea Quay : We ontmoeten u in de haven bij het Independent Tour Operators Pick Up Point. Houd er rekening mee dat de haven beperkte beschutting heeft, dus we raden aan te wachten tot de eerste stormloop van bezoekers is doorgegaan. In het geval van slecht weer zal het ook uw ontscheping aangenamer maken. Neem NIET de bus naar de Wellington i-SITE. Blijf in de haven. Uitstaproutebeschrijving : • Loop bij het uitstappen langs de bussen naar het Onafhankelijke Touroperators Ophaalpunt. Er zullen mensen zijn om je te leiden. • Je Kaewa Tours Gids zal er zijn met een bord met je naam erop. • Je Kaewa Tours Gids draagt een oranje of een geel high vis vest. Wellington treinstation : Pick-ups zijn van buiten de vooringang op Bunny Street. Opmerking : Voor passagiers van cruiseschepen zal deze tour op een iets gereduceerde route worden uitgevoerd.

This tour was an incredible journey trough Middle Earth. Our guide Dean was really nice during the day and gave so much details and anecdotes. Little Finn will remember this awsome member of our felleowship of the day. One of the best days of our trip in New Zeland!

A fantastic way to spend the day in Wellington! We learned so much, saw so much and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our guide, Tom Collier, was quite knowledgeable and interspersed anecdotes that kept things light and lively. We traversed the city and by the end of the tour felt like we had really seen Wellington.

Wonderful LOTR tour around Wellington! My son and I had a great time with Dave. He took us to all the filming locations and more! He also taught us about New Zealand’s rich history and culture. A great lunch was included along with all the pics in a drop box at the end of the tour. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day!

Our guide Dave met us promptly at the agreed time and it was the beginning of an awesome day together. He listened to what we wanted to see, and asked what we had seen already, and then took us on an awesome tour of Wellington and surrounding areas. We really appreciated getting to see outside of the Central Business District and the fact that he took pictures that he promptly sent to us after the tour. Dave has a wealth of local knowledge and was super easy to spend time with. It felt more like a friend showing you his city and a paid tour. Dave also remembered that we needed to buy hats to protect ourselves from the strong sun and neatly fit in a stop at a local store (instead of an overpriced tourist shop) to buy some hats! This tour was the highlight of our visit to Wellington! Thank you Dave for being sucha great guide.
