Je krijgt je eigen speciale Driver / Gids en 'Memory Creator' voor je hele tour. Geniet van een 8 uur durende privétour vanuit Wellington en leg het beste vast dat de Kapiti Coast te bieden heeft. We genieten van het majestueuze uitzicht vanaf de top van Paekakariki Hill, bezoeken het monument voor de Amerikaanse mariniers van de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Queen Elizabeth Park, bezoeken Southwards Car Museum met een collectie van meer dan 400 voertuigen, lunchen in een populair restaurant op Waikanae Beach, bekijken inheemse vogels in Nga Manu Wildlife Centre en eindigen onze middag met het proeven van heerlijke Gelato.

We rijden naar de top van Paekakariki Hill om te genieten van het majestueuze uitzicht over de Kapiti Coast, Kapiti Island, de top van het Zuidereiland en op een heldere dag kunnen we Mt Taranaki/Egmont en Mt Ruapehu zien.
Bij Ngā Manu kunnen we Tuataras van dichtbij bekijken, een rondleiding met een van de Ngā Manu Gidsen door de inheemse vogelvolières maken. Bezoek het nachtelijke huis waar je als je geluk hebt misschien een Kiwi of 2 ziet.
We lunchen in een van Waikanae's populaire restaurants - Hey Coastie of Long Beach Cafe gevolgd door een bezoek aan Waikanae Beach om Kāpiti Island en de top van het Zuidereiland te bekijken (op een heldere dag!).
We bezoeken het wereldberoemde Southwards Car Museum met een collectie van meer dan 400 voertuigen en drie vliegtuigen. Southwards is een van de grootste particuliere collecties van motorvoertuigen op het zuidelijk halfrond.
We bezoeken Camp McKay bij Paekakariki waar het US Marine Corps in de Tweede Wereldoorlog gestationeerd was voordat we de Pacific campagne ingingen. Hier nemen we een rondleiding door het gebied met een van de Vrijwilliger Historici die zal vertellen hoe het leven was voor de Amerikaanse mariniers en de lokale bevolking tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
We sluiten onze dag af met sampling award winnende Gelato van Zelati.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
CRUISEPASSAGIERS - Let op de volgende belangrijke informatie : Ophalen Wellington cruisehaven terminal, Aotea Quay : We ontmoeten u in de haven bij het Independent Tour Operators Pick Up Point. Houd er rekening mee dat de haven beperkte beschutting heeft, dus we raden aan te wachten tot de eerste stormloop van bezoekers is doorgegaan. In het geval van slecht weer zal het ook uw ontscheping aangenamer maken. Neem NIET de bus naar de Wellington i-SITE. Blijf in de haven. Uitstaproutebeschrijving : • Loop bij het uitstappen langs de bussen naar het Onafhankelijke Touroperators Ophaalpunt. Er zullen mensen zijn om je te leiden. • Je Kaewa Tours Gids zal er zijn met een bord met je naam erop. • Je Kaewa Tours Gids draagt een oranje of een geel high vis vest. Wellington treinstation : Pick-ups zijn van buiten de vooringang op Bunny Street. Opmerking : Voor passagiers van cruiseschepen zal deze tour op een iets gereduceerde route worden uitgevoerd.

Actually this was a pre-arranged Half Day Private Scenic Kapiti Coast Tour (Private Tour). Corran met us on time at our hotel and we set off on a thoroughly enjoyable (more than) half day. Corran was knowledgeable, entertaining, funny and a pleasure to spend time with. He even took photos of us at spots along the way and sent them to us. We highly recommend both him and the tour!

It's was an amazing tour, the best one of the trip! Dean was a great host! Highly recommend! He even introduced us to the hokey Pokey... Sooooo delicious! You will not be disappointed!

For our tour to Kapiti Coast we had Jill as our guide. She was friendly and had lots of knowledge of the area. The vehicle was comfortable for four adults, with many scenic stops. We had fabulous coffee for Morning Tea as well as a delicious lunch at the beach cafe. Jimmy the parrot at the nature reserve was a real treat. A wonderful day exploring Wellington and the coast.

Tom our guide was an exceptional person. He gave a continuous explanation as we traveled. He also gave us lots of time at the coffee and snack stops. Lunch was super. Wonderful day. Great introduction to the Kapiti coast. Tom was great at tailoring my day to include my interests. I had a great time and felt comfortable traveling with him as a female solo traveler.

Tom Collier was a wonderful tour guide. My wife and I spent a month in New Zealand in February, 2023 and booked many tours thru Trip Advisor. While we had many good tour guides, Tom stands out as the best. Friendly, punctual, knowledgeable and entertaining. My husband and I throughly enjoyed our 7 hour private tour of the wonderful Kapiti Coast with Tom, owner and personable host of Kaewa Tours! I planned our entire vacation in New Zealand and we mostly did our own touring, but we had a day in Wellington without a car and I wanted to enjoy the day from a local perspective. We were not disappointed in Kaewa tour! Tom was a knowledgable and considerate host. We emailed several times prior to the tour and I feel Tom set up a day that was tailored to our interests. I would say it was a combination of culture, nature and history. We were picked up from our hotel in Wellington and headed up the coast, stopping at Lambdon Quay and Parliament buildings for a bit of history and context. We spent a lovely hour touring the Southward Car Museum, the largest private car collection in the Southern Hemisphere. The next stop was the Nag Nature Preserve where a knowledgeable trainer gave us a tour of the facility. We got a peek at the elusive kiwi bird, fed some locals birds and saw some very large eels! Long Beach Cafe and Tavern was our next stop for a delicious lunch were we got to know our guide Tom better, and enjoyed a wonderful hour near the beach! Heading back to Wellington, we stopped at a very surprising site: the American Marine Corps Memorial at Camp Russell and then went up Paekākāriki Hill for majestic coastal views. Back in Wellington our tour continued as we drove up to Mt Victoria for a fabulous view of Wellington and then a final drive along the Quay and Oriental Parade. I would call this tour Wellington and Kapiti Coast because Tom covered a lot. As. local resident he shared humor and perspective and gave us a wonderful personalized tour of beautiful Wellington and the Kapiti Coast. I highly recommend it!
