Trek door Genua om de beste plekken, verborgen plekjes, beste bars, kleine osteria's, geheime oude winkels, afgelegen pleinen te ontdekken: proef de echte Focaccia en pesto (het is hier uitgevonden) en de voortreffelijke trofie in ons favoriete restaurant. Wees onder de indruk van de fenomenale schoonheid van de oude paleizen, zie de eerste "jeans" textiel, inderdaad hier uitgevonden... je zult zien. Drink smakelijke wijn in echte 'oude' bars in het oude gedeelte van de stad en verwonder je voor de magie van een oud Tempeliershospitaal. En welkom :-).

Prachtige paleizen uit de 16e eeuw tonen de ongelooflijke rijkdom van de Genuese bankiers die de Spaanse kroon gedurende 300 jaar onder hun controle hielden. Dit is de eerste investering in onroerend goed van de wereldgeschiedenis. 1565 AD.
Het meest adembenemende uitzicht op de stad. Is ongetwijfeld een unieke plek en daarom laten we het als een verrassing. Hoe kun je zo'n uitzicht beschrijven?
Een uniek paleis waar de koning van Italië zou komen, ondanks de Genuezen zullen ze allemaal vertrekken bij zijn aankomst. Je zult zien hoe de Genuese mensen hun geld uitgeven om te pronken en indruk te maken op de rechtbanken van Europa en alle gasten die ze hebben wanneer ze optreden als de eerste durfkapitalist van de geschiedenis ... Ja Genuese versloeg Silicon Valley met 400 jaar :-).
Prachtige en massieve marmeren palce; hier bracht Marco Polo 1,5 jaar gevangen en inderdaad, hier is de "Il Milione" geschreven: Polo ging in perfecte gezondheid terug naar Venetië :-).
Ooit de meest "geldmachine" van Italië, zag alle mogelijke zonde van de mensheid en vreugde ook. Nu is een straatweg waar alle kleuren van de skins beschikbaar zijn en de winkels overal in de wereld kunnen zijn. Aziaten, Afrikanen, Oost-Europa; De "donkere kant van de medaille" en 80 meter ver weg rijkdom op zijn best tonen jachten waardevolle tientallen miljoenen $.
Phenomenal Gotic Church en zijn annex Templar Hospital. Precies TEMPLARS kwamen hier wanneer ze terugkwamen uit Azië na het vechten tegen een kruistocht. Je zult het echte Malta Cross uit 1184 na Christus zien. De unieke constructie is verbluffend. Elke steen heeft het merkteken van de beitel zoals gisteren gedaan. Mooi !

This is one of the most amazing tours I’ve ever taken, and Karl is amazing. His so knowledgeable about the history of Genoa and the food and Prosecco was delicious! This is one of the most unique experiences I have had and I would absolutely recommend this!

Wonderful experience. The food and tour were well done. Karl is very informative and enthusiastic. Be prepared for plenty of walking. Easy to access from the cruise port. Bring your appetite as Karl will offer many stops to try local food/drink. The history of Genoa was fascinating. We enjoyed this tour over the cruise bookings we did in other Mediterranean stops.
I’m not sure if Karl does this tour anymore but it was amazing!! He was knowledgeable, kind and generous. We had a great day exploring Genoa!!

A top flight experience with a highly knowledgeable and passionate guide. I saw many details that are typically not even evident to the casual observer. Very eye-opening in terms of the various phase of Genovese history - governments, trade, architecture and religion. He made a stop a “da gio’” for probably the best focaccia I have ever tasted. Lunch was an excellent plate of pasta ai porcini. Yes, walked fast but that can easily be adjusted. He knows the town so very well, a joyful 4.5 hours. Highly recommend!

Carl was our guide and made Genoa come to life. The palaces and the food were amazing. He had so much energy and really made the tour interesting. He also was very aware of how hot it was and accommodated us to keep it cool.

Karl was incredibly lively and passionate about the history of Genoa which made the experience very enjoyable. It was our first time in Genoa and the topography and architecture and history of the city was all incredible.

This tour took was very memorable! We saw so many beautiful sites in Genoa. Museums, stores, great food - as described! You truly do see the hidden gems of Genoa. Our tour host, Karl, was extremely knowledgeable and had a passion for everything Genoa has to offer. He was flexible with our group and made adjustments to keep us cooler on such a hot day. We had a great day with Karl. Not only was he knowledgable about his city, he took pride in caring for our group of 8 people. He was checking to make sure if people needed water, bathroom breaks, or Prosecco. He was a great host for our delicious lunch that was included with our tour. The food, wine, conversation and air conditioning were delightful. Highly recommend this tour and Karl.
