De Old City Heritage Walk is een meeslepende wandeltocht in Hyderabad die je 400 jaar terug in de tijd brengt, terug naar de tijd van de Qutb Shahi Sultans die de stad bouwden en een blijvende culturele erfenis achterlieten. Terwijl we langs de paleisachtige herenhuizen en moskeeën van een vervlogen tijdperk lopen, zullen we ook het leven en de tijden van de Nizams van Hyderabad herbeleven tijdens deze wandeltocht. De wandeling begint bij het beroemde Charminar en eindigt bij het Chowmahalla Palace of the Nizams. Ons bedrijf zet zich in om lokale gemeenschappen te versterken. We helpen bij het opleiden en inhuren van lokale gidsen en ondersteunen lokale bedrijven om ervoor te zorgen dat reisdollars blijven waar ze worden uitgegeven.

Charminar is een monument dat symbolisch is voor de stad Hyderabad. Het werd gebouwd in 1591 door Mohammed Quli Qutb Shahi, de vijfde sultan van de Qutub Shahi-dynastie om het einde van een dodelijke pestaanval op de stad te herdenken. Onze gids zal je betoveren met legendes zoals de aanwezigheid van een geheime tunnel onder Charminar die verbonden was met Golconda Fort, gecreëerd als een middel om te ontsnappen voor de koninklijke familie in tijden van nood.
We bezoeken deze beroemde straatbazaar voor parels en armbanden.
We lopen vervolgens naar Mekka Masjid, een van de oudste moskeeën in India. De eerste steen werd gelegd door Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, de vijfde heerser van de Qutub Shahi-dynastie. De bakstenen waarmee de moskee is gebouwd, zijn gemaakt van grond afkomstig uit Mekka! Deze prachtige moskee biedt plaats aan meer dan 10.000 mensen.
De laatste etappe van onze wandeling brengt ons naar Choumahalla. Het is het paleis van de Nizams die ooit de rijkste mensen ter wereld waren. Enkele van de opmerkelijke delen in dit paleis zijn een waterfontein, vintage auto's, ingewikkelde gravures, glazen kroonluchters en de grote durbar-hal. Tijdens de hoogdagen van de Nizams, hebben maar liefst 7000 bedienden dit paleis bemannen! Onze gids geeft je een inzicht in het persoonlijke en politieke leven van Nizams van Hyderabad. (Choumallah Palace is gesloten op vrijdag. Als we de wandeling op vrijdag doen, zullen we het niet bezoeken)

It was a great experience getting the feel of the old city from a very knowledgeable guide.
Ms Shashi gave a very rich tour program. Her explanations were very clear. Her guide is highly recommended for other guests.シャシさんは非常に充実したツアープログラムを提供してくれました。説明も非常に分かりやすかったです。他のゲストの方にも、彼女のガイドを強くお勧めします。
Shashi was incredible! She did a fantastic job telling me all about the history of hyderabad. She took me to all the spots (the markets, the masque, the center etc. She is a wonderful guide , 10/10 recommend shashi! She did a great tour showing the culture of hyderabad/india. Would highly recommend for further tours!

Our guide Sashi was very knowledgeable and made it a great day out for us walking in the old city. Make sure to go to Charminar in the early morning when there are no crowds and it is cooler. There is a great view from the top. Chowmahalla palace is well worth a visit with beautiful gardens and the mosque was very interesting too.
Had a lovely time learning about Hyderabad old town history with Ms. Shashi for the half day tour. The tour was well structured with a mix of history and experiences such as watching the making of bangles, trying milk tea and the Osmania cookies. Ms. Shashi is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating in regards to start/end of the tour. Highly recommended, especially for solo female travelers.
Srinu was incredible and this was such a great day. He gave me a big rundown of the history of Hyderabad as we drove into town. Then we walked through the historic town and the palace as I learned more about the incredible influences in Hyderabad over hundreds of years. He was so knowledgeable and answered every question! Then, we went to a few shops where he showed me some of the coolest authentic craft & artisan work still being done in the region. Really really awesome - cannot recommend Srinu enough.
Great experience on this tour. I went with my husband who was visiting Hyderabad for the first time. We were able to book this quite easily, and the communication from the staff about timings, meeting points etc. was very efficient. On the tour, we were able to locate our guide, John, easily and he even waited 5 minutes for us very kindly as we were running late. The tour was very informative, followed a good route and we had enough time to take any photos. All in all great experience and would totally recommend 100%!
