Chefchaouen, of "Chaouen", zoals het vaak door Marokkanen wordt genoemd, is een populaire toeristische bestemming vanwege zijn pittoreske blauwe kleur, zichtbaar van veraf en zelfs dramatischer van dichtbij. De naam Chefchaouen verwijst naar de vorm van de bergtoppen boven de stad die eruitzien als de twee horens (chaoua in het Berbers) van een geit. Er zijn ongeveer tweehonderd hotels die zich richten op toeristen die hier komen uit het nabijgelegen Tanger en Ceuta. U zult het heerlijk vinden om door de smalle straatjes te dwalen en de blauwgekalkte huizen en hun kleuraccenten van bloemen en straatkunst te zien. Er zijn ook charmante cafés om te zitten en mensen te kijken.

CHEFCHAOUEN, the Blue City was charming. Full of beautiful crafts mostly locally made. Our guide is extremely informative .. he has a great knowledge of all aspects of the communities and the history.
We had the best tour of the Blue door City anybody could ever ask for We had a wonderful tour guide You must ask for him his name is Hicham... We booked through get your guide but he is a local who was born there and live there his whole life he works as an independent contractor if you call get your guide and ask to book a tour tell them you want the tour with hichum

The trip fully fulfilled its description, we were picked up from our hotel on time, then we met with other travelers and we were driven in 7 passengers Mercedes Van to the blue city. Berrada reminded us to fasten our seatbelt, stopped a couple of times for bathroom breaks and viewpoints. Each person was provided one bottle of water. In blue city, we had enough time to explore the quint and beautiful city. After we drove back, Berrada was very kind enough to offer us to see the tanneries, although it’s dark, but we got the sense of Fez tannery history. Highly recommend the tour, Berrada has various services not only in Fez, but in various cities of Morocco. Will use him again if coming back to Morocco.
