Met Private Fire Temple en Fire Mountain Tour zul je ontdekken waarom Azerbeidzjan eigenlijk land van vuur wordt genoemd met een bezoek aan een 17e-eeuwse vuurtempel en heuvel die letterlijk 4 millennium brandt. Eeuwenlang hebben vuuraanbidders uit verre landen, en zelfs priesters uit India, naar het vuur gezocht en het in Absheron gevonden en hier hun belangrijkste tempel gebouwd - Surakhani Atashgah. Het lang branden van de voet van de berg (Yanardagh) is de belangrijkste nuance die de aandacht trekt. Het meest interessante is dat wind, regen en sneeuw dit vuur al 4000 jaar niet hebben kunnen blussen.

Ateshgah in het Suraxani-district van Baku is een van de drie Mecusi-tempels ter wereld. Volgens het zoroastrisme is deze plek net zo heilig als Mekka. Er zijn 3 heiligdommen in Iran, India en Azerbeidzjan. Elke toerist die de kelders binnenkomt, kan de wonderen van deze plek voelen. Als je bijvoorbeeld 12 cellen binnenkomt, zie je een heel vreemd gezicht als je naar de vlammen kijkt die branden in de koepel van het vier verdiepingen tellende gebouw op het erf van Ateshgah. Op dit punt lijkt het je dat je op een trap van de vlam staat. Of als je bij de 18e cel komt en daar een tijdje stopt, hoor je vreemde geluiden. Het lijkt iemand dat ze praten. Gemengde stemmen zijn duidelijk hoorbaar, maar ze begrijpen niet wat ze zeggen.
We zullen onze reis voortzetten door een bezoek te brengen aan de meest beroemde vuur Fire Mountain (Yanardag), die een tien meter lange muur van vuur heeft, die nooit dooft en continu brandt langs de rand van de heuvel. De vulkaan, die is genomineerd voor UNESCO Werelderfgoed, brandt al honderden jaren. Met het aardgas dat naar de oppervlakte komt, wordt de rok van de brandende berg dag en nacht overspoeld met bezoekers. Vóór de 7e eeuw werd de vulkaan gebruikt als de tempel van de Mecus en de gebouwen eromheen werden vernietigd en het vuur bleef branden.
We zullen een korte stop maken in het cultureel centrum Heydar Aliyev. Het park van het Heydar Aliyev-centrum is een van de mooiste plekken in de stad om te ontspannen en plezier te hebben. Iedereen hier kan ontspannen, wandelen, de verschillende buitententoonstellingen in het park bekijken en natuurlijk hun mooie momenten in foto's en video's bestendigen. Bezoekers kunnen kennis maken met de kunstcompositie "I Love Baku" in het park van het Heydar Aliyev Center.

We wanted a nice short private tour and this delivered. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and both sites (the burning mountain and fire temple) were worth the visit. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Baku and had a short amount of time.
It's a place where you will find natural gas fire burning continuously, with many ancient stories to know and things to see. The temple in its current state was created within the 17th-18th centuries and designed by the Baku-based Hindu community. It is a pentagonal structure, with a serrated outer wall and an entrance portal. Built in local architectural traditions

Jamal was a vert good guide to the Fire Temple, which was a very worthwhile sight (Fire Mountain perhaps less so). He was also very responsive to my wish to alter the itinerary. a bit, accompanying me as I walked around. Heydar Aliyev Center rather than going inaide (which was on my agenda for the next day). The driver was good and careful. I was also grateful that my request to change the time of the trip could be accommodated. This was also a chance to see a much less elegant area of Baku and its environs.
I went with my wife and we were led by Tahir and Arif for the trip. They came to pick us up on time and gave us a thorough tour of all the attractions on the list. The best part was that Tahir is a well-read person who has a keen interest in history, politics, and knows a lot about different cultures. So it was particularly interesting to talk about not only various aspects of Azerbaijan's local culture and politics, but also its relationship with the neighboring countries in light of the historical events that have happened in the past.
