De tour omvat ook een uniek cultureel hoogtepunt: lunch in een plaatselijk huismuseum, waar u kunt genieten van een zelfgemaakte maaltijd bereid met verse, natuurlijke ingrediënten, waaronder traditioneel versgebakken brood, dat u een authentieke smaak van het lokale leven biedt

Wij bieden pick-up van centraal gelegen hotels in Bakoe, met uitzondering van hotels gelegen aan Nizami Street (Tarqovaya) en in de oude stad. Gasten die in deze ruimtes verblijven worden vriendelijk verzocht naar het ontmoetingspunt te komen.
De Candy Cane Mountains zijn schaliebergen in de districten Khizi en Siyazan van Azerbeidzjan, onderdeel van het gebergte van de Grote Kaukasus. De 'Candy Cane Mountains' werden oorspronkelijk zo genoemd door reisauteur Mark Elliott in zijn gids 'Azerbeidzjan met excursies naar Georgië'. De kleuren van de bergen worden geproduceerd door grondwater dat de oxidatietoestand van de ijzerverbindingen in de aarde verandert.
Rijdend over de snelweg M1 die de hoofdstad van Azerbeidzjan verbindt met de grootste steden van Rusland, ziet u de berg Beshbarmak, gelegen nabij de kust van de Kaspische Zee. Beshbarmak is een bedevaartsoord voor de lokale bevolking en is dankzij zijn hoogte en vorm al sinds de oudheid een uitstekend referentiepunt voor zeilers. De heilige plaats "Pir Hydyr Zundzha" ligt aan de voet van de Beshbarmag-berg, waar de reizigers stoppen om te bidden en te aanbidden. Je professionele gids vertelt je de mythische verhalen die bij deze plek horen.
Qechresh is een van de grootste dorpen in de regio Guba. Het gebied is aan alle kanten bedekt met bos. Langs de weg zijn er recreatiegebieden en restaurants waar u de lokale keuken kunt proeven. In Qecresh bos zullen we moeten overschakelen op een Sovjet off-road voertuig om Khinalug te bereiken!!!
Als u verder van het bos van Gechresh gaat, bevindt u zich in de Gudyalchay-canyons: steile beklimmingen en afdalingen van de weg gaan door de steile wanden van de kloof. De weg die door twee bergen, steile kliffen en een prachtig bos loopt, maakt het uitzicht van dit charmante dorp.
Hier stoppen we om te genieten van het panoramische uitzicht op het Cascadegebergte. Vanaf dit punt kunt u het hele prachtige landschap zien.
Het bergdorp Khinalig, dat is opgenomen in de lijst van UNESCO historische monumenten van wereldbelang. Met zijn ontoegankelijkheid, unieke taal, unieke architectonische uitstraling en cultuur trekt het dorp toeristen van over de hele wereld. Sinds 2007 is Khinalig uitgeroepen tot etnografisch reservaat. Op weg naar Khinalig zie je vaak adelaars over je heen vliegen, wilde paarden galopperen langs de oevers van steenachtige rivieren en wolken die zo laag neerdalen dat ze soms zelfs aangeraakt kunnen worden. Tijdens de tour geniet je van een volledige traditionele lunch bereid door een lokale familie in het hart van Khinaliq dorp. Dit is geen eenvoudige snack of een basisbord – het is een complete maaltijd met vier verschillende zelfgemaakte gerechten, die de rijke smaken van de authentieke bergkeuken laten zien.
Je bent minimaal 8 uur onderweg (heen en terug).
We keren terug naar het startpunt. Bovendien kunnen we een drop-off service naar het hotel of naar elk adres in Bakoe regelen.

De tour begint om 8.00 uur. We halen ook de gasten op van het Hotel of accommodatie in Bakoe. We sturen je een dag voor de tourdatum de ophaaltijd via WhatsApp of e-mail. Meestal is de ophaalservice van uw accommodatie ongeveer 30 minuten voor vertrek.

Our tour with Leyla was really enjoyable and we learned so much! The tour was set at a good pace, and included some great locations and we were always well informed of each stop. Recommend to all!
I would have reviewed this trip well anyway purely because of the spectacular scenery we got to see on the way and in Khinaliq itself. It was so great being able to have the Caucasus mountains accessible from Baku because of a tour like this. Hats off to the drivers willing to drive for near on 12hours to allow tourists to do this. However, this tour was made even more special because of my guide Layla. She was approachable, friendly and had a great energy about her. She was quick to learn names and made an effort to get to know us which was really appreciate for a mere day tour. She is also an excellent photographer. I’m a solo traveller and hate being in front of the camera. Layla never forced me to have photos of myself but at the same time put me at ease of having them as she was always on hand to take them and gave suggestions on where to sit or stand. I also appreciated meeting Inset in Khinaliq. He runs a guesthouse in the village, his English is excellent and he shared with me his work (as a fellow historian). I was grateful for his kindness and hospitality as his uncle made me a coffee at his house whilst we chatted. All of this with no expectation of something in return which is more than I can say for the young boys from the house we had lunch at who were keen to ‘show us around the village’ and then started demanding money.. be mindful of this. Leyla did speak to them upon finding this out from the other guests upon departure. It’s funny, we probably would have tipped them. But their demands and lack of manners led to me at least to be dismissive of them and I refused to engage with them. A pity as their mother showed great hospitality at lunch - the food was a nice touch and allowed us to learn about their culture too. Few tips: bring a good litre of water, sturdy shoes for the village, a layer and some suncream as the UV is strong in the mountains.

Long and bumpy drives, but well worth it. Our guide Musa was awesome, very friendly, engaging, brought everybody together. Highly suggest to everybody who is visiting Baku.
Leyla was a great guide, and photographer. She took the time to take amazing photographs of each traveler for all the beautiful viewpoints we stopped at. She was so kind. This is a very beautiful excursion for nature and cultural lovers.
Overall great experience got to see sights we wouldn’t be able to see otherwise. Leyla was a great guide super informative and helpful plus a great photographer. Great value for money a little long in the car but definitely worth it for the sites seen, even though the weather conditions were poor we still managed to see everything nicely. If you like sightseeing with some cultural history this is definitely a must do especially visiting the khinalig village incredible views 👏
I booked and short after that already contact with driver and tourguide. Pick up from my hotel was not possible but a better pickup point than I choose from they gave to me. From the time meeting Leila and all other guests it was very friendly and professional. Several stops as in the description, one better than another but I know that as being a guide and working tourism myself in the past. The main points on the trips is what you're taking the tour for and I really loved the landscapes of Azerbaidzjan. Leila and the driver were very nice and lovely to take multiple pictures and tell about what we see during the trip! I took especially this trip because hikie/tracking is not possible with my foot and It was good. One small thing, be ready for bumby roads/corners if you get easy travel sick or have back problems (and sleep well or drink less day before) . I have back problem but It was not a big problem because we had enough stops. I loved to see an eagle just flying a few meters above my head. Lunch was very nice and Leila had during lunch also interesting things to tell. The trip started with candy cane, but after that it went much better and interesting. A very good trip if you have not that much time and like to see more than just Baku city. Thanks to all the guests Leila and driver and you made a wonderfull experience! Martijn Bakker (Netherlands)
