We bezoeken de koffieplantages waar we de oude technieken leren die door de experts worden gebruikt om enkele van de beste koffie in Costa Rica en de rest van de wereld te produceren. Vervolgens wordt het zorgvuldige proces van het kweken, oogsten en roosteren van de Golden Bean geïllustreerd
Na de koffietour gaan we verder naar Poas Volcano National Park, waar er een merkbare verandering in temperatuur en uitbundige vegetatie van het nevelwoud is. De Poás-vulkaan is een actieve stratovulkaan van 2.708 meter (8885 voet). De krater van de vulkaan is meer dan anderhalve kilometer breed en 330 meter diep. Het is sinds 1828 40 keer uitgebarsten, inclusief april 2017. Bij de vulkaan hebben we tijd om te genieten van de indrukwekkende hoofdkrater met zijn zwavelfumarolen, en een wandeling te maken over een pad naar de prachtige Botos-lagune terwijl we meer te weten komen over de verschillende ecosystemen in het park.
Na Poás gaan we verder naar La Paz Waterfall Garden, waar we zullen genieten van een lunchbuffet (beoordeeld als 4 Forks door de Costa Rican Tourism Council) met meerdere selecties van traditionele Costa Ricaanse gerechten en nog veel meer. Bij La Paz Waterfall Gardens gaan we door wandelpaden omgeven door weelderig tropisch regenwoud. Hier zullen we stromende witte rivieren, spectaculaire watervallen, vogels, vlinders, apen en kolibries waarderen. Er zijn ook educatieve dierententoonstellingen om van te genieten, zoals de volière, het vlinderobservatorium, de Hummingbird Garden, het serpentarium, de Jungle Cats Exhibit en de Frog Exhibit. Dit is absoluut een tour waar natuurliefhebbers van alle leeftijden van genieten.

We halen alle reizigers op bij de verschillende hotels in het centrum van San Jose, het centrum van Heredia en het centrum van Alajuela. De gepubliceerde ophaaltijd geldt voor hotels in het centrum van San Jose. Als uw hotel of ophaalpunt zich in Escazu, Santa Ana, Belen Heredia of Alajuela bevindt, zal de tijd anders zijn en zullen we de meest exacte tijd precies 24 uur na de tourdatum aangeven.

volcano wasn’t visible due to clouds which was sad, but otherwise a fun day. The coffee tour was super cool and the food was great overall. The waterfalls were beautiful, but the facilities included a “sanctuary” that felt more like a zoo. That said, it was still cool to see the animals. Edgar was punctual, friendly, and informative.

If all tours were this good, I’d probably never plan my own vacations again. The “Poás Volcano + Coffee Plantations & La Paz Waterfall Gardens” trip from San José was honestly the best tour I’ve had in years. Our guide Ronny was wonderfully knowledgeable and somehow managed to be informative without ever sounding like a walking textbook. The timing at each stop was spot on: enough time to explore, take photos, and admire the scenery without doing that awkward tourist speed-walk back to the bus. Even breakfast and lunch got a perfectly reasonable amount of time, which felt like a rare and beautiful gift. Well organized, relaxed, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish — I’d absolutely recommend it.

Road was closed to volcano, so had to pivot, still did the rest of the tour though. Highly recommend. Our guide Edgar, was top notch and made it even more memorable! Would do this tour again.

Very Nice experience, I loved the waterfalls .just to give you the heads up there's lot of walking required in this tour especially at La Paz where there's lot of going up and down the stairs to get to waterfalls

Our trip had to be adjusted slightly since Poas was closed. But the trip was still 100% worth it! Our guide was SO knowledgeable and interactive with the group. Learning how coffee is processed was so eye opening and La Paz Waterfall garden was great. There were A LOT of stairs to get to the falls, but for those who couldn't manage the stairs they had a plan for an alternative tour ready to go. Overall this was a GREAT way to end my trip.
