Ait Benhaddou is een interessante dagtrip vanuit Marrakech nadat u het Hoge Atlasgebergte bent overgestoken. Ait Benhaddou is de UNESCO-site die sinds 1987 is geclassificeerd, waar nog maar weinig gezinnen in Ait Benhaddou wonen. Maak een wandeling en steek de opgedroogde rivier over om de kasbah's van Ait Benhaddou te domineren. Heb vrije tijd om de kasbahs van Ait Benhadou te verkennen en lunch zelf in een lokaal restaurant met uitzicht op de Ksar. In de middag rijden we via de Tizi n’Tichka terug naar Marrakech.

We passeren Tizi n'Tichka, de hoogste passen van Noord-Afrika, we stoppen op enkele punten voor koffiepauzes en adembenemend.
We stoppen bij Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, de UNESCO-site die sinds 1987 is geclassificeerd. Verken de stad en het Berberdorp. Lunch in een lokaal restaurant met uitzicht op de Ksar.
Aankomst in Ouarzazate. Zie de Atlas studio vanaf alleen de ingang buiten. Ga dan naar de Kasbah Taourirt een ander Paleis van Pacha El Glaoui.
We rijden terug naar Marrakech via Tizi n'Tichka, op de terugweg nemen we pauzes voor snacks, koffie, roken...

Enjoyable journey. Our guide Abdul was very helpful and wonderful guide. We saw wonderful scenery on the way and also the very picturesque Ait Ben haddou.

This trip is worth it mainly for ait ben haddou. The old city is fantastic and offers great views. Our driver, Oussama, was great as well; very efficient at getting us to our destinations and knowledgeable about them.

Ayoub was great. Very flexible with our family of 5 made up of three young kids. My son sat in the front with him and made him listen to all his favorite songs ha! Ait Ben Haddou is amazing and definitely worth a day trip and has a little bit of something for every age group!

Visiting the ksar at Ait Benhaddou was the highlight and it is indeed worth visiting: really something else! Alas, the organisation around it was somewhat shaky, the driver quite cranky and the drive a bit long. Then again, the food was good where we stoppen and the watching a guy make paintings with original material was interesting. Prepare to be in a car 2/3 of the day. And you buy just the drive, nothing else. Ouarzazate was not really worth it. The studios nearby were a fun escape.

Ayoub was a driver and a guide in the same time. He offered good information about the places that we visited and he blended us in the Moroccans tradition introducing us into the local houses. I recommend hom for the effectiveness and the atmosphere of the trip.
