Beschrijving
Het reservaat is een toevluchtsoord voor vele soorten fauna, waarvan sommige worden bedreigd, zoals de canclón, een watervogel die leeft in de lagune met dezelfde naam en de krokodil van de kust, die al is verdwenen in andere delen van de kust. Vanwege de diversiteit en de grote uitbreiding van aquatische omgevingen die het reservaat beschermt, werd het in het jaar 1990 uitgeroepen tot een Ramsar-site, een internationale erkenning voor wetlands van groot belang.

This is a jam-packed full tour!! We had so much fun with Jefferson, Orlando and Ronald! Gosh the laughs!! Of course the sites were amazing! The lunch at the Cacao & Mango was incredible!! And plentiful!! I highly recommend it!

Good experience especially seeing howler monkeys and so many different types of birds and also saw wild live shrimps The host at the cocoa plantation were superb Only issue was slightly deficient explanation by the tour guide to make things more meaningful (English) speaking guide

My friend and I had a fantastic experience on this day trip. Jefferson was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the area. We spotted a lot of different birds at the Mangrove, and we got to experience the unique sounds of the Howler monkeys. The day ended with a trip to a cacao farm, here we made our own chocolate and learned about the history of the cacao in Ecuador. We were treated to a 3 course lunch here and it was by far the nicest meal we had on our Ecuador trip. I would highly recommend this day trip if you’re in Guayaquil, 5* experience.
