Combineer onze Half Day in Middle Earth met een tweede Half Day Adventure in een ander deel van Middle Earth met ons partnerbedrijf. We hebben een lunchpauze van 1 uur terug in Queenstown en wisselen van bus voor de middagtour. Ochtend en Middag Tour routes zijn onderling uitwisselbaar en kunnen worden veranderd afhankelijk van beschikbaarheid of weersomstandigheden. U bezoekt de Skippers Canyon Lookout (als het weer het toelaat), Arrowtown, The Gibbston Valley, Glenorchy en Paradise. Je zult LOTR locaties bewonderen zoals De Ford van Bruinen, De Gladden Velden, Pilaren der Koningen, Ithilien, Isengard, Beorn's House, Lothlorien, Amon Hen en meer!

We gaan naar de Skippers Canyon Lookout om de "Most Dangerous Road" van Nieuw-Zeeland te bekijken. Niet alleen een spectaculair uitzicht, maar ook een Lord of the Rings-filmlocatie verderop in de Canyon. We stoppen daarna bij het nabijgelegen Coronet Viewpoint om het omliggende uitzicht op het Wakatipu Basin te bewonderen en door ons reisplan te navigeren vanuit vogelperspectief. (Deze stops zijn afhankelijk van het weer)
Bekroond met de prijs 'Mooiste kleine stad' van Nieuw-Zeeland in 2020 en 2023. We leren over de goudkoortsgeschiedenis van dit rustieke maar charmante dorp dat zo uit de 19e eeuw lijkt te stammen. We verkennen 2 filmlocaties van Lord of the Rings op korte loopafstand van de stad, gevolgd door ochtend- of middagthee in dit schilderachtige dorp.
De belangrijkste wijnregio van Central Otago. Hier bezoeken we een epische filmlocatie van Lord of the Rings, waar we verhalen leren over de productie en de geschiedenis van de wijnbouw. Hier zijn we ook getuige van durfduivels die springen van 's werelds eerste commerciële bungeejump vanaf de historische Kawarau-brug.
We gaan naar dit pittoreske, serene meer, met een prachtig uitzicht op de omliggende bergen, rechtstreeks vanuit Middle Earth. We brengen hier wat tijd door, genietend van de rust en spelen met onze authentieke replica-rekwisieten. Verkleed je als je favoriete LOTR-personages en gebruik levensechte zwaarden, dolken, bijlen en helmen uit je favoriete fantasy-trilogie!
We gaan naar de adembenemende Wakatipu Lookout waar we onder de torenhoge Remarkables Mountains nog een laatste blik werpen op dit spectaculaire landschap dat de inspiratie vormde voor de verfilming van de epische Lord of the Rings-trilogie. We wijzen verschillende filmlocaties aan en maken foto's vanaf het best bewaarde geheime uitkijkpunt van de lokale bevolking, hoog boven de badplaats Queenstown.
Tussen onze 2 tours geven we onze gasten 1-1,5 uur pauze in de badplaats Queenstown. We zullen fantastische lunchaanbevelingen doen (op eigen kosten van de gasten). De pauzetijd is afhankelijk van de volgorde waarin de ochtend- en middagrondleidingen worden uitgevoerd. Als de Glenorchy-tour als eerste wordt afgelegd, zal de pauze waarschijnlijk 1 uur duren met een kortere eindtijd aan het eind van de dag, aangezien deze tour iets langer duurt dan de Arrowtown Tour.
We lopen van de prachtige 12 Mile Delta langs de Bob's Cove Track naar een belangrijke Lord of the Rings-filmlocatie in een prachtig inheems en niet-inheems struikgewasbos bij een historische goudkoortscamping.
We reizen langs wat wordt beschreven als "Een van de mooiste schilderachtige ritten ter wereld!". Langs de Glenorchy Road stoppen we bij de adembenemende Bennetts Bluff Lookout. Een aantal verre Lord of the Rings-filmlocaties spotten, verborgen in de bergen. We keren terug op dezelfde mooie rit die de mogelijkheid biedt om adembenemende vergezichten vanuit meerdere aspecten langs de weg te bekijken.
We stoppen in het kleine, schilderachtige stadje Glenorchy. De stad, gelegen aan de kop van Lake Wakatipu en de uitlopers van de Zuidelijke Alpen, staat bekend om zijn historische kerk, levendige rode botenloods en kade, en een van de kleinste bibliotheken in Nieuw-Zeeland.
In de prachtige Paradise Valley komen we 2 Lord of the Rings-filmlocaties tegen en 1 uit de Hobbit-serie. We krijgen exclusieve toegang tot een schapenstation in het hoogland waar meerdere films zijn opgenomen, voordat we het oude Zuidelijke Beukenbos binnengaan. Hier of in Glenorchy zelf zullen we onze ochtend-/middagthee en snacks nuttigen (laat het ons weten als u dieetwensen heeft).

We loved our adventure in Middle Earth! Departure was convenient central Queenstown CBD at 8:00 AM. Our guides, Eby in the morning and Amy in the afternoon, were fantastic - tons of positive energy, super interesting LOTR trivia, and behind-the-scenes insight into how the film was made. During the morning, we visited many interesting scenes, including the Anduin, the Fords of Bruinen, the Gladden Fields and more. During the afternoon, we switched to the Glenorchy area, seeing such sights as Isengard (our favorite), the pass of Caradhras, the woods of Lothlorien, Amon Hen, and more. Throughout, we got many views of the Remarkables - the mountain range used for Mordor, the Rohan Scenes, and many other scenes! Despite the poor weather, the day was very enjoyable and it went by in a flash (8 AM to 6 PM with a 1-hour lunch break), and I highly recommend this tour for any Lord of the Rings fans who travel to New Zealand looking for Middle Earth. You will find it in the Queenstown area!

Oh wow I wish I could fully describe how awesome this was. Firstly Eby, Beau and Daniel were great tour guides and photographers. The second half of the day was split. You go to sites you only can go with this tour company they have special accommodations. The dress up was the best part and I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did. The remarkable were exactly that.

What an amazing day! Our guides Eby (morning) and Dan (afternoon) felt more like friends than guides. They knew everything about LOTR and took us to so many beautiful film locations where we re-enacted scenes and put on costumes. He had all the scripts to read and photos taken. We felt very welcome and I would recommend this tour to everyone.

On May 4th I took a day trip with my lover and the overall experience was far greater than expected! Guide Eby is funny, full of gold throughout the journey and knows the Rings series so well that he can trust it with both the fun behind the film's shooting and the book's cold details. Along the way, with classic scenes from Middle-earth unfolding slowly, and with his vivid explanations, it's as if he really walked into a movie. The itinerary is also reasonably paced and doesn't feel rushed, with plenty of time for each attraction to feel and take photos. The vehicle is comfortable. Eby is not only professional, but also takes great care of every group member and makes the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. It's an evocative journey and highly recommended to all Ring fans and friends who love the deep cultural experience!

This was truly an amazing experience. My husband and I are huge Lord of the Rings fans and we were blown away by the beautiful areas we were taken to. It was our first time to New Zealand so we loved seeing so much of the country with the added bonus of relating it all to the Lord of the Rings. Guides were great too. Highly recommend and in fact we plan to return in a couple years with our family.
