Tito's Bunker is de grootste nucleaire schuilkelder in voormalig Joegoslavië, ontworpen om president Tito en zijn naaste medewerkers te beschermen in geval van een nucleaire oorlog. Je hebt de mogelijkheid om alle delen van deze indrukwekkende bunker te verkennen, waaronder het kantoor van de president, conferentiezalen, slaapzalen voor soldaten, gasopslagruimtes en andere gespecialiseerde kamers. Wanneer je Tito's Bunker in Konjic, Bosnië en Herzegovina bezoekt, verken je een groot ondergronds complex. Dit werd gebouwd als een geheime schuilplaats voor president Josip Broz Tito en zijn naaste mensen tijdens de Koude Oorlog. Binnen zie je veel gangen, commandocentra, woonruimtes en zelfs een eigen bioscoop. De bunker laat zien hoe goed hij was ontworpen, met systemen voor lucht en communicatie, die belangrijk waren voor de plannen van Joegoslavië in geval van een nucleaire oorlog. Nu is de bunker een museum en kunstgalerie, waardoor je een bijzondere blik krijgt op de geschiedenis van de regio en wat er tijdens de Koude Oorlog gebeurde.
Gasten die de Oude Stenen Brug in Konjic bezoeken, zullen een prachtig voorbeeld van Ottomaanse brugarchitectuur over de rivier de Neretva zien. De in 1682 gebouwde brug heeft zes bogen en is van steen, met een lengte van ongeveer 10 meter. Het is een belangrijk cultureel monument en een Nationaal Monument van Bosnië en Herzegovina. De brug werd in zijn oorspronkelijke vorm herbouwd na schade tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en heropend in 2009. Bezoekers kunnen over de brug lopen en genieten van het schilderachtige uitzicht op de rivier de Neretva en het omliggende landschap.

I contacted Meet Bosnia tours directly via WhatsApp (link on their website) and they were very helpful, sorting out a tour for us the very next morning. We had a very charming and well-informed driver who arranged with us what we wanted to do in Konjic before and after the tour to Tito's Bunker. We were going to go to Tito's bunker by train/bus from Sarajevo but it was so much better going with Meet Bosnia as they sorted out the timing and all the strict admin around booking your military approval to go into the bunker! The actual bunker is fascinating - absolutely worth the trip.

Great experience to see how one of the many bunkers built in this era operated and wasn't destroyed like many others. The guide was great, during such a long ride it was nice to have someone who could carry a conversation and finish the tour feeling like I made a friend in Sarajevo.

Worth the visit. With only few days in Sarajevo, i decided to do guided trips to make the most of it. I’ve looked at this trip for a long time and decided to give it a go. I was not dissapointed. It met my expectations and i had a really good day in great company with my driver/guide and another attendee. Because of the small group size, the whole experience was way better and much more intimate and it felt like you had a private tour. When i wanted to do the booking, none of the days that i spend in Sarajevo were available. The kind people at the front desk took my contact details and promised to let me know if and option turned up. Half a day later, i was contacted with great news. Another person also wanted to do the tour. So, Meet Bosnia decided to complete the tour with only two attendees. That is really great service. The guide was great and good at connecting with us and he was really friendly, warm, funny and flexible.
