Je reis begint in het pittoreske Positano, een stad genesteld tussen de heuvels en de kristalheldere zee van de kust van Amalfi. Hier kunt u genieten van het uitzicht vanaf de omringende berg en slenteren door de smalle straatjes van het historische centrum, bezaaid met modewinkels en lokale ambachtswinkels. Proef de lokale keuken, beroemd om zijn verse visgerechten en mediterrane groenten. Daarna neemt je tour je mee naar het verfijnde Sorrento, de parel van het schiereiland van Sorrento. Bezoek het historische centrum en ontdek de verborgen schatten, zoals de kathedraal van Sorrento, de barokke kerken en het suggestieve klooster van San Francesco. Vergeet niet de limoncello te proeven, een lokale likeur gemaakt met lokale citroenen. Ten slotte neemt je tour je mee naar de ontdekking van Pompeii, de oude stad begraven door de Vesuvius in 79 na Christus. Meta di Sorrento is een ideale stop om de schoonheid van het schiereiland van Sorrento te bewonderen. Vanaf de hoogte van 111 meter boven zeeniveau biedt het een spectaculair uitzicht op Capri, Sorrento en de Amalfikust, met glimpen variërend van de turquoise zee tot de omliggende groene heuvels. Vanaf het panoramische uitkijkpunt kunt u in één oogopslag de essentie van het kustlandschap vastleggen, inclusief gouden stranden, kliffen en heuvels die langzaam aflopen naar de zee. Een korte maar onmisbare fotostop onderweg naar Sorrento.
De Li Galli-eilanden vormen een zeer kleine archipel tussen Capri en Positano, een van de meest tot de verbeelding sprekende plaatsen, niet alleen in Campanië, maar in de hele Middellandse Zee. De archipel wordt gevormd door drie eilanden, Gallo Lungo, La Rotonda en La Castelluccia, en samen vormen ze een buitengewoon suggestief beschermd zeegebied.
Positano is misschien wel een unieke plek in de wereld! Het is een juweel van spontane architectuur, gelegen op de rots met uitzicht op de zee. Clusters van kleurrijke huizen, soms met een kubusvormig uiterlijk, zijn gebouwd op vaak zeer steile trappen, die afdalen naar het strand, verbonden door steegjes en lange trappen.
Volgens de legende leefden de mythische Sirenen in de zee en verleidden ze Ulysses met een melodieus lied. En nog steeds op die zee - met blauwe en groene reflecties, in duizend verschillende tinten volgens het spel van de zon - kan men zich voorstellen dat de mooie en overtuigende Sirenes uit de golven opduiken. Maar misschien is Sorrento een sirene die betovert en betovert met de geuren van citroen- en sinaasappelbomen, met olijfbomen met donkere gedraaide stammen en zilveren bladeren die langzaam bewegen, met een zacht geluid, in de wind die uit de zee komt, met rotsen geboren van de verre woede van een vulkaan.
Pompeii is een stad in Campanië, gelegen in de Golf van Napels en op de hellingen van de vulkaan Vesuvius. Het is een stad met een zeer oude oorsprong: het werd geboren als een Oskische nederzetting, werd later bewoond door de Samnieten en vervolgens, vanaf de eerste eeuw voor Christus, veroverd door de Romeinen. Stad begraven door de uitbarsting van de Vesuvius. Tegenwoordig staat het bekend als de stad met een van de belangrijkste archeologische vindplaatsen ter wereld. De Romeinse stad werd in feite bedolven onder lava na de uitbarsting van de Vesuvius in 79 na Christus. De lava en de as zijn een soort bedekking geweest waardoor de stad zich door de eeuwen heen heeft weten te handhaven en beschermd is tegen slecht weer; om deze reden is de stad intact gebleven en kan deze vandaag worden bezocht. Opmerking: de resterende tijd is voor de heen- en terugreis en de tijd tussen attracties.

This was a lovely tour of Sorrento, Amalfi Coast and Pompeii. Paolo was our driver and was very professional and affable. He gave us time to allow us to explore the shops in Positano, but was also considerate that we needed to avoid spending too much time so that we did not miss out on seeing Pompeii. This was about an 8 hour excursion and we needed this time - Pompeii is an expansive site, it is important to give yourself time to see this adequately. An additional entrance fee to the archaeological site will need to be paid (about 20 Euros). We had the pleasure of been driven in a comfortable vehicle and a driver that is very knowledgeable of Naples. During the Pompeii tour we were given headphones to listen to an expert tour guide as we followed her through the labyrinth streets and corridors of this historical site. A splendid tour that has sparked our desire to revisit Naples, thanks to Paolo!
