Het Marmorpalais (of Marmeren Paleis) is een voormalige koninklijke residentie in Potsdam, nabij Berlijn in Duitsland, gebouwd op het terrein van de uitgestrekte Neuer Garten
Brandenburg, Duitsland, gebouwd van 1914 tot 1917 in de vorm van een Engels Tudor-landhuis. Cecilienhof was het laatste paleis dat werd gebouwd door het Huis Hohenzollern dat het koninkrijk Pruisen en het Duitse Rijk regeerde, tot het einde van de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Het is beroemd omdat het de locatie was van de Conferentie van Potsdam in 1945, waarin de leiders van de Sovjet-Unie, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en de Verenigde Staten belangrijke beslissingen namen die van invloed waren op de vorm van Europa en Azië na de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Geen enkel ander paleis is nauwer verbonden met de persoonlijkheid van Frederik de Grote dan Sanssouci. De naam zelf, "Sanssouci" - wat "zonder zorgen" betekent - weerspiegelt het primaire verlangen en leidende principe van de koning. Dit was zijn gekoesterde toevluchtsoord, een plek waar hij troost en gezelschap vond in het gezelschap van zijn honden. Sanssouci was uiteindelijk zijn favoriete verblijfplaats en toevluchtsoord, vooral in moeilijke tijden.
De Hollandse wijk (Holländisches Viertel) in Potsdam is een charmante wijk met 134 rode, Nederlandse bakstenen gebouwen, die vrijwel allemaal zorgvuldig zijn gerestaureerd.

Over all its good experience guide katia is perfect. Very nice and knowledgeable. As there is always room for improvement, there should be some rest breaks for photo or time to sit besides lake as continuous walking can be hectic , sometimes
An excellent way to journey a little out of Berlin, by train through the Grunwald and by lakes, too. The history in Potsdam is significant and visually interesting, even beautiful.
I booked this tour on July 16th with Katia, she was excellent! The pace of the day was good and she was very knowledgeable about the locations we visited. Highly recommend.

Roshana lead a wonderful & insightful tour today. Tour had lots of walking and it is in the tour name but the heat today made it a little rough at times, It was hot today (30C) so just be prepared. I appreciated the off the beaten path sights and the beautiful walk along the nature paths & lake. We saw several UNESCO heritage’s sites along the way ending at palace gardens. Which is where our tour ended. I choose to hang out in Potsdam longer and experience a few of the sites on my own after the tour was over. Unique tour, good exercise, beautiful sights, I learned a few things and feel like I earned my beer today.
We went for a half day tour and really enjoyed it. There was quite a lot of walking but a chance to stop for food and water half way through for refreshment in the main Potsdam town. Loads of information from our very knowledgeable tour guide. Katia was excellent. She shared loads of knowledge and used buses and trams so that we could see as much of the area as possible. It was s perfect mix of walking, public transport and sit downs to learn a loads more about what we were looking at. Would definitely recommend, although it's closer to a full day than a half day excursion once you've factored in travel.
Good location,lovely hotel and welcoming staff. Room was excellent very clean bed nice and firm. Breakfast was awesome everything you need.

What a wonderful walking tour all about Potsdam! Katia was a splendid, super knowledgeable guide who had a lot of terrific information. She met me at the appointed time, and guided me on a lovely train and bus ride to Potsdam. We spent the next three hours walking all about the beautiful areas: we stopped at the Potsdam villa (where the end of WWII was negotiated after FDR died), circled about the beautiful lake and countryside near the villa, walked up and down the historic old town where Katia pointed out numerous important sights, and then wrapped up our tour at the gorgeous Sanssouci Palace. Overall, this is a lovely, relaxing way to spend the day and learn something about Potsdam and its history. The walk, while three hours (roughly) was not at all challenging--I LOVE to walk, so for me it was a pleasure. Howe er, for those who may be a bit intimidated, don't worry. It was all flat, gentle, and an easy walk.
Our guide, Katia, is very knowledgeable. Since our trip is more about the histories about the division, I enjoyed Katie’s retelling the histories about Glienicke bridge, exact border line for prisons exchange and site of Potsdam conference , even though it was a small portion of the tour.
