Het maakt deel uit van een reeks tempels die gebouwd zijn om het eiland te beschermen tegen boze geesten. Vandaag de dag is de locatie aan de klifzijde de permanente thuisbasis van een familie vriendelijke apen. Zodra de avond valt en je de kleuren van de zonsondergang hebt gezien, beleef je een van de beroemdste culturele optredens van het eiland tijdens een Kecak and Fire Dance. Zie de lokale bevolking een scène uit de Ramayana naspelen met een betoverend trancegezang, onderbroken door spannende vuurdansen door artiesten in ingewikkelde kostuums.

De Uluwatu-tempel is een 13e-eeuwse tempel die gebouwd is door de priester Mpu Kuturan. Locatie 100 meter hoogte van de kliffen maakt deze tempel ziet er prachtig uit. Omgeven door bos dat leeft van een lange staart aap die soms ondeugend is voor bezoekers. De meeste bezoekers komen tijdens zonsondergang naar deze tempel terwijl ze kijken naar de meest beroemde traditionele dans genaamd Kecak-dans.
Bali Kecak en Fire Dance Performance Onbekend waar Kecak-dans oorspronkelijk vandaan kwam en die voor het eerst werd ontwikkeld, maar er is een soort overeenkomst over de Balinese Kecak werd voor het eerst ontwikkeld tot een podiumkunsten in het dorp Bona, Gianyar, omdat Kecak aanvullende kennis had oorspronkelijk een lied of muziek die voortkomt uit een combinatie van geluiden die samen melodieën vormen die meestal worden gebruikt om de heilige dans Sanghyang te begeleiden. En kan alleen in de tempel worden opgevoerd. Toen in de vroege jaren 1930 door kunstenaars uit het dorp Bona, Gianyar probeerde een Kecak-dans te ontwikkelen door het verhaal te nemen van Ramayana die danste als een vervanging voor Sanghyang-dans, zodat deze dans uiteindelijk in het openbaar kon worden getoond als een uitvoerende kunst. Een deel van het Ramayana-verhaal waarin de eerste wordt genomen als Godin Sita werd ontvoerd door koning Ravana.

Our driver, Ramos was very friendly and accomodating. Tickets and transport were all included. Took us for a small tour around the temple and then allowed for us to explore on our own before the kecak and fire dance. Provided water as well. Spoke okay English, sometimes was hard to understand, but very good.

We can't explain the far too good reviews here. It's a huge rip-off, in our opinion. Don't go there. Huge crowds. Forty people in disguise sit in circles and act like wild ones. The upper "monkey" hops around the audience and harasses the audience. Again and again he almost crotches himself and pretends to r onanieren. After 45 minutes, a straw circle is lit. That was it. The best are the monkeys who steal everything and only bribe the stolen goods back with a banana. Everyone present was disappointed. If panic breaks out there, there are deaths.

The performance itself was interesting and the view was awesome but everything that sat around it wasn’t that great… you have to line up early (at least an hour before the show for tickets) and then get seated early (about an hour before the show)… then sit in the serious heat for an hour in the blaring sun waiting for it to start, you will most likely have someone’s knees in your back and someone sitting on your feet, they cram 1,200 people in each show. Then the traffic afterwards is terrible. Circa 2hrs for 25km back to Seminyak. There are other Kecak fire dances performed all over Bali so maybe they might be logistically easier with young kids? And watch out for the monkeys, they warn you but one literally took a woman’s sunglasses right off her face in about 3 seconds flat.

We also always recommend that you be ready on stage 15 - 20 minutes before the show starts, sorry, don't wait up to 1 hour. So that we ensure that all customers who have used our services give us excellent review. During our visit to Uluwatu, we always ensure that all our customers are safe from monkey disturbances and keep customer comfort from monkeys. When done visited Uluwatu the traffic is bad and it is during high season, our driver team will take a shortcut to get to the hotel earlier and we also provide free time if the customer want enjoy dinner at any restaurant during the trip in the same direction to the hotel. Amazing display by the Kacak dancers with the stunning backdrop of the ocean and dramatic cliffs. Temple and grounds had plenty of interest too including resident monkeys. Plenty of steps to negotiate and very popular so quite crowded. Caution needs to be exercised around the monkeys as apparently they can be aggressive although we did not have any problem with them.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with Bali Majesty. The drivers that accommodated our trip were kind, flexible, and guiding. They were especially helpful in directing us to the greatest local restaurants with authentic balinese plates, providing information regarding culture and origin of the locations we visited at our stay, and taking good instagram photos. Everyday was an enjoyable experience with plenty to do, and Bali Majesty made everything run smoothly. I would definitely recommend anyone who is traveling to take part in their services!

Great trip, especially if you’re on the other side of the peninsula. The tour included getting the tickets for us which saved us quite a bit of standing in line at the complex itself. Also, it’s very crowded after the show so doubt you can catch a ride easily if you don’t have a tour.

Putu was wonderful guiding us through a very crowded temple. Without him and his assistance, we would have not known where to go or what to do. However, he was very helpful in navigating us around and getting us in to see the show with ease. After the Kecak dance, he took us to our dinner reservation and even waited for us to drive us back to our hotel. He was an excellent host for the evening!
