Uit Angra: Tour van een halve dag naar Terceira Island (gedeelde tour)

Ga met ons mee op 3 uur van rust en ontspannen bezoek aan het eiland, het mengen van cultuur en prachtige uitzichten, we zullen het beste van deze tijd samen maken, rijdend door Monte Brasil, het enige schiereiland van het eiland, Geiteneiland, een onderwatervulkaan, São Sebastião, de eerste plaats die we bevolkten bij aankomst op het eiland en Serra do Cume, een van de resterende bergkammen van de grootste caldeira van de Azoren! Het bezoek aan Algar do Carvão is optioneel en afhankelijk van het uur van de tour. Voor deze activiteit is minimaal 2 deelnemers vereist

We bezoeken Monte Brasil, passeren de krater van de vulkaan en bereiken het uitzichtpunt naar de stad Angra Do Heroísmo, van waaruit we de geschiedenis kunnen zien die door de stad stroomt!
We rijden langs Baía da Salga, waar we een historisch gevecht hadden met de Spanjaarden, die het fort bouwden dat we in Monte Brasil hebben bezocht
In dit dorp bezoeken we een van de oudste kerken van het eiland, evenals een Império, een kleine kapel gewijd aan de Heilige Geest, een van de hoogtepunten van onze cultuur
Hier zullen we getuige zijn van de grootste Caldeira (structuur van een ingestorte vulkaan) van de Azoren, met slechts twee richels links, elk gescheiden door 7 km!
Optioneel, afhankelijk van de datum/tijd van de tour. Zie het schema hier (http://www.montanheiros.com/algarcarvao/). Het is een lege vulkaan, er zijn er maar 3 in zijn soort, het bezoek is toegankelijk, met trappen helemaal (geen lift). We zullen de structuur bezoeken en getuige zijn van zeldzame formaties zoals stalactieten gevormd door silica.

We recommend this trip. We saw amazing sights and got a real feel for the island. Loved the goats and all the rock walls. Do this, you won't regret.

Definitely recommend! Rui (our guide) was great. Knowledgeable about the all the sites we explored and also so interesting to learn about traditions and culture of the island from him. We were only on Terceira for a short time during a layover so this worked well for us to be able to explore as much as we could in a short timespan. We hope to visit again.

We had a great tour. The guide was very friendly and knew a lot about local history and traditions. We visited many great nature spots and even a local wine producer. Amazing experience. Highly recommended.

Beautiful island. Loved the cows. Cows everywhere! Stepping back into a much quieter but lovely place. Bus driver took us thru some very tight roads.

Catarina was the best! I started my trip with flight delays. I was able to switch my pick up to the airport on short notice, and the company was great about it. Catarina met me at the airport and gave me a tour of the island. I felt like I was able to see so much during our tour (from scenic overlooks to cheese tasting to Algar do Carvão). Catarina was so nice, really loved the island, and was able to teach and show me so much. It was a great way to start the trip. I highly recommend!
Nuno was a very pleasant guide for our excursion to the island of Terceira. We saw beautiful views, but what was breathtaking were the “beaches” formed by lava from the nearby volcano with a lunar landscape and many small natural pools. Nuno was very good, competent and accompanied us on this excursion with all his sympathy
We had a most enjoyable & relaxing Guided Tour with Ricardo. He met us at our Cruise ship and drove us throughout the area, stopping at many gorgeous sights, and sharing with us the History and Culture of this beautiful island, including some personal history. Our small 3 person group included a former Terceira Resident of 60+ years ago, and the conversations with Ricardo were the best - we all learned something! We went to a small café where we had delicious local pastries & coffees! This is a great Tour that should not be missed by anyone visiting Terceira, and request Roberto as your guide!
