Ontmoet onze lokale reisleider en begin deze reis in de gastronomische wereld van Piemonte. Waardeer de historische winkels en proef een scala aan traditionele gerechten, terwijl je leert over nieuwsgierigheid en geschiedenis. Proef Gianduiotto, volgens de legende werd de Gianduiotto geboren als gevolg van de continentale blokkade van 1806 opgelegd door Napoleon. Veel chocolatiers begonnen chocolade te produceren door een deel van het deeg te vervangen door hazelnoten. Bicerin, wat in Piemonte "glas" betekent, is de naam van een typisch niet-alcoholisch drankje uit Turijn, dat afkomstig is van een ander 18e-eeuws drankje genaamd "bavareisa". Vitel tonnè met een glas wijn, in tegenstelling tot wat men zou denken, komt niet oorspronkelijk uit Frankrijk, maar is erg Italiaans: de term vitel tonnè komt uit het Piemontese dialect. Kazen bezetten een zeer belangrijk deel van het Piëmontese enogastronomische erfgoed omdat er meer dan honderden zijn en velen van hen hebben in de loop der jaren de aanduiding DOP en DOC verworven.

Guide was very knowledgeable of history in turin. BUT we booked a food tour to taste the foods in turin and little food and beverages offerred. Was a waste of money as far as a food tour goes

Our guide was very good at making us passionate about Piedmontese culinary tradition, and also explaining the history of the dishes we tasted. A great tour to discover places we would never have found on our own. Highly recommended.
