Matera bezoeken aan boord van een ape calessino, een comfortabele en leuke ervaring. Een tour door de drie wijken van de Sassi van Matera en het historische centrum met panoramische stops en bezienswaardigheden over de recente geschiedenis van de stad Matera: van nationale schande tot een stad die wereldwijd bekend en gewaardeerd wordt. Het is ook mogelijk om een typische 'grotwoning' te bezoeken. De rondleiding duurt iets langer dan een uur en je wordt begeleid door een plaatselijke bewoner om de geheimen van deze duizend jaar oude stad te ontdekken. This was a spectacular way to see Matera and Vito is a wonderful tour guide. He did a great job bringing the history to life and answered our many questions. We went at sunset, which I recommend for the dramatic views.
A bit disappointing & not good value for money. While guide provided some good history on Matera , tour didn’t include major Cathedral - we had to ask to stop & pay own entrance fee. We visited a typical cave & miniature town model which was typical tourist attraction .
I'm sorry Maureen! You had exactly what you booked! Actually more... Tour was 1hr and 15 minutes Pick up from the hotel was not included and map neither! There are longer tour to see the cathedral, rock churches and more... The tour is 1 hr long with a guide and a tuk tuk only for you(we had 80 before taxes). My suggestion is to give a real feedback on site that's help us to improve our service. So thank you

Our guide Vito was awesome. He told us a lot about the history of the town and also his family. He made pictures of us and knew the best foto stops. We got a map after the tour and additional ideas for our visit.
Vito picked us up in his beautiful bright red Ape at our hotel and began telling us about Matera from that moment. We learned a great deal about Matera’s long ago history as well as its transformation after WWII. We now know that Coca Cola can be used to make streets slippery in case you need to film a high speed car chase. As a result of his recommendation, we tried peperone crusco (fried sweet peppers) at lunch and loved it. We had a great time:
